Enjoyed walking along the water front. I took a lot of pictures and was kept very clean. A must when visiting.

You can't get to the water any closer. You get a fantastic view of the Charlotte Amalie harbor and a spectacular view of the east side. Lots of shopping and eating around, but expect places to be crowded with tourists, especially when you have one, two or sometimes three cruise ships docked at the same time.

More fun to walk than to drive. There's a sidewalk that follows the harbor with incredible views. Over 2 miles long from Frenchtown to West Indian Company Dock. Lots to see and do. Don't miss Fort Christian and the Legislature Building. USVI history! Day walks only. Not safe after dark. Definitely recommended!

We have never seen so many jewelry shops. Few shops had the typical touristy stuff (t-shirts). When we first came down town in our jeep rental, traffic was so horrible, and no parking could be found anywhere. So, we hailed a cab to take us there another day from Red Hook. It was $30 there and $30 back, but at... More

I strolled most of the length of this waterfront. The "highway" isn't really a highway but just the main coastal road from the cruise ship pier to the airport. But from the ferry terminal to the cruise ships is a really nice walk. There aren't many benches, but you can walk across the street to sit down. You can watch... More

You can see the ships, sea planes landing and taking off, and lots of shops and restaurants along the way. Kind of difficult to review a "highway", but traveling it, you do get to see a lot that Charlotte Amalie has to offer! If you are walking at night, be VERY CAREFUL! Do not wander off onto small side streets... More

Be aware of the times you travel the waterfront highway in Charlotte Amalie. It is a beautiful view of the ships and other vessels, but certain times of the day, the traffic is brutal. Locals seem to be aware of the cruise ship schedules and can avoid the heavy traffic taking visitors back before the ships depart. In case, you... More

If you can find parking in the municipal lot near the Justice Center, and wait for a light to cross the street, you can take great pictures of the bay and various ships both huge and smaller. Occasionally you may see a seaplane taking off or landing from the terminal near Frenchtown, on your right as you face the water.... More

Nice view of the water and cruise ships but it seems to be always congested. We pulled up next to a truck converted to carry passengers. It was playing island music. The passengers were trying to tell the driver to turn down the volume. Since my window and the drivers window were open I said party poopers. Driver thought that... More

I recently walked this route from the cruise terminal into main street in about 15 minutes at a fast pace. You get good picture opportunities if you wish to take pictures of your ship. This is the route that the cruise ship vans take to get you into town for $4:00.
