Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The front desk was professional. However when we were escorted to our room; the dressers had missing handles, the smell of mildew was present, when checking out the bathroom, the sink was pulled out from the wall and there was a hole in the wall in the shower. I think that it's a disgrace for the USVI to allow a hotel to charge more than $300 a night for a ran down property that clearly needs to be condemned. We did not stay there. The front desk staff was phenomenal!

I spent about an hour at Lindbergh Bay Beach. It is literally right adjacent to the airport. You can see and you can hear the airplanes take off. There are many nice views of the surrounding mountains. There are also many rentals available. The water was clear and warm, but I did not see any marine life. There were a few rocks in the water and the swimming section was relatively small. The beach was rather quiet, and it is not a very large beach in terms of its sand portion. I noticed that there were a lot of local people at this beach. It is possible to get to this beach from Charlotte Amalie by a cab, but I did about a 3 mile walk each way. There were sidewalks and the total walk took me around an hour per way.

Sunday Limin’ seems to be the way to go. Albeit more of a local flavor on Sundays, which I do enjoy, the beach consists of a large arc of sand with plenty of space to spread out. One Love chair rental is extremely convenient with very friendly service. $10 chair rental (2 chairs and umbrella for $25). Great music.
The Grand and I meandered back and forth between our chairs and the beach bar @ Emerald Beach Resort for food and drink. Prices are typical for resort-type fare. The mahi-mahi sandwich is excellent. Clean bathrooms at the beach resort. I didn’t see a shower to rinse off the sand but I’m sure there was one if I inquired.
3rd visit to the island, but, first time I’ve chilled at this beach. Spent the entire day here before taxi-ing to my hotel downtown. Looking forward to bringing my sister and friends to this beach, even, if we just spend the day in port on a future cruise.

We visited this beach while on a cruise stop, in the port of St Thomas, USVI. We took the local bus on the main road, right across from the Wendy's Restaurant. It was 1$ p/p. We got off the bus near the airport and had to walk more or less 10 mins to get there. We entered through the lobby of the Beach Resort to get to the beach. There is a bar and a restaurant. The beach was really nice and the water was calm for swimming. It is right across from the airport so expect some noise when the planes land and take off. We rented chairs under a tree because there were no more umbrellas available. It was 10$p/p for a chair. I definitely recommend this beach. Not too crowded also.

I stay at the Emerald Beach resort, mainly because of the beach, just steps from the hotel. Lindberg Bay beach is almost as good as the famous Magen's Bay and a lot more accessible. The waves are tiny, the sandy beach bottom is mostly clean, and the water is always warm and inviting. The east end is mostly hotel guests, with lounges. (I think rentable to the public). The west end is uncrowded, where locals hang out and picnic. At the moment, there are no amenities, except for the hotel, which has restrooms behind the restaurant, Very pleasant place.

Convenient to Crown Bay where the RCCL ships dock. We only docked for half of a day so this was the best beach option for us. Chairs are available for rent. You can purchase drinks at the nearby hotel bar. Not the best beach in St.Thomas but it is good if you are pressed for time.

This beach is really fun. You can have lunch and drinks at the Emerald Beach Resort, which was great. You can also get drinks at the water amusement park or at another additional stand along the beach.
The water park is a huge inflatable obstacle course which was really fun, and there are also jet ski rentals and a guy who pulls you in a tube behind his jet ski. That guy can also take you over to Water Island.
We went there for three days straight and it was so fun!!

We visited this beach while on a cruise. Also known as Emerald beach the taxi dropped us off at Emerald Beach Resort. Taxi was $4 pp each way to cruise terminal.
Its a beautifull beach, very secluded and was not crowded the day we were in port. Only 1 cruise ship in port.
The water was calm and you could see the sand at the bottom, very clear water.
A very relaxing and peacefull place.
There was noticable damage from the hurricane as the hotel next door was completely demolished and cable lines were down and twisted around the hotel. Very sad to see.
The loungers were $7 each and we were given the password for free wifi.

while in St. Thomas for our cruise, we wanted to tour the island and go to the beach. You can always find a private taxi when you get off the ship. Don't get fooled by the cruise line shore excursions - don't waste your money. You will get more out a private tour or ride. Once off the ship, we had a really hard time finding a taxi because they are herding you into the hired taxi buses. We finally were able to flag one down and have him take us around the island. We went to Mountain Top and had the famous Banana daiquiri - which was tasty, but not exactly worth the trip all the way up the mountain. We were meeting the rest of the family at Lindbergh Bay Beach. The taxi guy dropped us off in a very shady area - a woman was bleeding in the bathroom and the skies opened up with a downpour rain as soon as we got out of the cab. Lets just say that we were soaked and hiding underneath this abandoned tent until the rain cleared. We found the family down the beach a little bit at Emerald Beach Resort. If you plan on going to this beach, please have them drop you off at Emerald Resort. here we were able to rent chairs and umbrellas, as well as hit the beach bar. Clean bathrooms. The water was warm, but no fish to see while trying to snorkel.

We enjoyed this beach. Street parking and near the airport. There are chairs to rent but the guys who worked there were more intent on arguing with each other than actually helping us so we walked closer to the hotel, where there are chairs and umbrellas for rent. No crowds at all and felt like we had the beach to ourselves. Water is crystal clear and sand is soft - no rocks. We would definitely come again.

Is the beach open (post hurricane) ?
Written 29 October 2017
Not sure if you are coming for a visit but I strongly suggest you
wait a few months. We are in revocery mode. Some beaches
are open, but water is not cleared up yet and lots of hazards
in the waters , like pieces of broken houses, etc. only about 20%
of the island has power. Many many roofless homes.

Is there a fee to go on the beach? Can we walk to get there or we need to take a taxi? If so how much can we expect to pay for a taxi? Is Emerald Beach a better choice? Which one is closer to the port?
Thank you.

free beach and i woudn't walk from the cruise ports because it is a industrial area all the way there it cost about 5.00 bucks each way.you can rent beach chairs there or just sit on the sand. also it is by the local airport so you see planes come and go. it is the closet beach to the ports and not crowded like all the others there...have fun and enjoy your time there... Another reviewer mention that there was no fee to access the beach but that there were fees to rent a beach chair. Is this near the port where the cruise ships dock?
Written 25 May 2016
There is no fee to access the beach, but there is a fee ($5 i think) to rent a beach chair. Most cruise ships dock at the Havensight location, so you would need to take a taxi from there. I think the taxi for two was about $10 each way.
