Riding my bike back from work, I pulled off to the side to take a dip and enjoy the water...cool, clean and clear.

Everything you need---water spots (West End), great food and drinks (Rhythms), and best place to catch the sunset. The water was so clear and not too rocky---I found other beaches on the island to have more rocks. If going to the west end, would spend a beach day at Rainbow Beach!

If you are looking for a swimming beach, it's hard to beat this one, except Sandy Point. You can rent chairs, lounges, umbrellas at Rhythms ($20 for two nice beach chairs and an umbrella), but many people were in their own chairs. There is SOME shade, if it's not already taken. If the waves aren't crashing, it's a very pleasant... More

This beach is really pretty, but was very crowded! Most beaches on the island are quiet and this one was full of people.

Drove here after visiting Frederiksted. First, if you want to avoid crowds from cruises, you can easily find the cruise ship schedules online. We didn't go anywhere touristy on those days. Still, on a Wednesday, the beach was fairly crowded. Not a ton of parking, but there are other beach access points a couple of hundred meters up and down... More

To echo what most of the other reviewers have stated, this is a cruise beach. While the water is warm, calm, and crystal blue, it is noisy and crowded with beachgoers (most probably from the cruise ship). It's located a short (>5minutes) from the cruise terminal. It suited our needs for the day because we spent the morning on a... More

This beach is so beautiful and the water is calm and clear making it great for the whole family. the section right next to Rhythms is usually crowded, but if you drive a little past there are plenty of places to pull over and get your own private section of pristine beach.

We spent a few hours at Rainbow Beach as we stop here on our cruise. This beach is very close to the pier, good to walk, swim, snorkel, and relax. Some rocks in the water, but good to attract fish. Water was calm and clear with limited facilities.

Beautiful white sand, blue water and a good amount of snorkeling sights for beginners. Great place to spend an afternoon
