Ranch from the old days

Old Danish castle ranch from 1800 period. The main house still looks like it did then, with the old furniture, kitchen and garden. Open wednesday and saturdays.

It is nearly impossible to find out when this museum and grounds are open. Even their answering machine apologizes for their poor telephone reception but does not give their opening times...bizarre. They are open Wednesday and Saturday, 11 to 4 pm. Do not believe the confusing information you see elsewhere. James, the tour guide, has lived on St. Croix all... More

I visited the Farm and Museum this past weekend while on St. Croix. The property is stunning and the home is in great condition. It brings you back to a different way of life on St. Croix.

We had a wonderful guided tour of the house and the surroundings which really gave insight into the life of the Lawaetz family on the farm.

These were the original founders of St. Croix and they have preserved the land and sell fresh everything from eggs to vegetables every day. It's actually very interesting to see the memorial site where the first was born in the 1800...

The Ad stated They Were Open Sat 10-4Pm But They Were Closed With No Explanation! Bad Business If You Ask Me. They Should ANnounce The Months They're On Vacation.

We loved the person guiding the tour. There is authentic furniture from the time the Danes owned and occupied the island.

We truly enjoyed our visit of the Lawaetz House, museum and grounds. Our tour guide, Delores, did an outstanding job and was very knowledgeable on the family and Danish history. Beautiful gardens which had recently been manicured.

We visited the estate today and had the pleasure of meeting Denise, the museum guide. The estate is charming and has a variety of interesting memorabilia. The gardens can be compared to being a Botanical Garden in on their own and the setting is one of the most charming on the island. Denise was extremely knowldegeable and is a wealth... More
