Very steep climb up to the lighthouse, but you are rewarded with spectacular views. Absolutely stunning. Climb the lighthouse and have someone with you to climb the tower next to it to take your photo at the top. Watch your head at the top of the second set of stairs in the lighthouse. A small trail that is steeper but... More

Use GPS to get to the end of the road and check the photos for the path to the left of the gate (no cell service where you park). There are no signs - views are great from the trailhead. About a 15-20 min climb leads to an old lighthouse (in poor shape - lots of trash inside) with great... More

Took a trip with my Air BNB hosts today and it was worth the thigh burn to get up and see it. You start at the foot of the old National Guard station and before you get to the bridge you pass the almond tree. Hike up is steep but only takes 15 mins or so. The lighthouse at the... More

My boyfriend and I hike often, this was all uphill and took us 9 minutes. If not experienced, I would allow 20 minutes. The hike is covered for most of the way up. The views at the top are stunning. We climbed into the lighthouse but I would not recommend it, the view in the lighthouse is not worth it.... More

Take route 63 North from Frederiksted as far as it will go. Not many places to make a wrong turn. The "road" is full of really deep holes so it will be slow going. 4WD is not necessary, attention to the road is. The road ends at a National Guard installation. Go to the left along the chain link fence... More

To get there, take rte 63 almost as far north as it goes. When you see a single pillar with a sign that says Caledonia Valley turn left down there. At the end you will see a gate to a national guard building, park there. Then walk around the fence and there is a path behind it that will take... More

This is a short hike although a bit steep for some, but well worth the gorgeous view. You can do the whole hike and enjoy some time at the top in just 2-3 hours. Finding where to start is a little tricky and it seems like you aren't in the right spot then you see the well worn trail and... More

Beautiful view over the cliff. Hike up to the old lighthouse to lookout over Annaly Bay and Cane Bay.

Ham's Bluff coastal area is a treasure trove for geology fans. It is a wonderful example of a dead coral reef exposed to the elements for eons. It has great samples of shells and corals embedded in the concrete like structure of the material. It is not a great area to collect shells. This is a scenic area not a... More

A nice hike on the west end of the island. Follow the Ham's Bluff Road all the way north. You will turn left in between some concrete columns. Keep following the road until you reach the National Reserves Facility. Walk along the fence line to the back of the facility. At the back gate you will see the trail leading... More
