I stayed in Leeward Estates, and I cycled out to Taylor Bay and to Chalk Sound. I was also on a scuba trip which traveled over the sound. That color is incredible !

Never saw water this color before! Check out Las Brisas Restaurant on the water. A special place with music for dinner. They lost there pavilion (roof) in the hurricane, but it does not matter! Kayaking, paddle boarding, and jet skiing is available in chalk sound....More

My son and his family live here. So it is a place close to my heart. The water is beautiful and you can see for miles. More attraction should be build up in this area.

Beautiful day trip. Have lunch at Las Brisas, drive around the area to look at the beautiful homes and stop at Sopodilla Beach to cool off.

When we started planning our trip, I knew this was one of the things I wanted to see and do, kayak in the Sound. It was so much fun! The place is really huge, almost four miles long and 1.5 miles at the widest, so...More

Rent a kajak at Las something restaurant and you’ll be good to go. Or drive around and find the dead end street

We ate dinner on the Sound, and drove around on departure day. It seems that Chalk Sound changes colors depending on the light, time of day, and other conditions. We drove every public road on this trip and the views are amazing. Building continues and...More

Be sure to take a drive along Chalk Sound Road (or bike or scooter) to get both sound and ocean views. If flying in look out the window as you approach PLS airport!

We had no issue there it seemed very safe. Need to take general precautions. We always left rental car unlock no valuables in it.

Since this is where you reside you probably know the areas well....considering renting a villa for 8 adults and 3 children and have options of Chalk Sound (which seems to have the nicest views and calmness winds?), Leeward and Iron shore (Alta Bella)..would like to be able to snorkel and kayak from property and have a beach where the little guys can play...we like to visit other areas and will have two cars but would be nice to be somewhat close to restaurants or bar where older ones can go after dinner ..doesn't look like Grace Bay is good for kayaking but I am not the expert....did a pool/beachfront in Cayman with a coffeehouse down the road...this worked well for us...also, looks like Sapodilla is across the road from Chalk Sound...feasible to kayak from Chalk Sound to there? Lots of questions but TA has slew helped me in planning past trips...any information appreciated!
