Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A soothing oasis after the heat retaining concrete and trafic fumes of downtowm Scarborough, the gardens are laid out over eighteen acres of what were once the Dal Fair and rocky plantations.Pretty much deserted the day we visited, with no guided tours as such. Broad sweeps of lawns. planted beds and shade trees could pass for an English park , were it not for the garish crimson of towering African tulips, flamboyant trees and the yellow and pink cascades of the poui trees.
An enjoyable retreat from the hustle and bustle of the dusty city .

We relaxed here for an hour or so on a very hot day, watching people and lots of chicks. Right by the main drag, so lots to watch. More of a very nice park in my book, but they can call it whatever they want.

It's a lovely place, but such a pity more care is not taken with labelling plants and the exceptional trees, and offering a layout guide.

Very fantastic botanic garden with many local jungle plants. Nice to explore local Tobago and Carribean nature. Located in good place, near Scarborough city center. Easy to get there. No dislikes, liked everything.

My wife and I went strolling through the Botanical Garden at night during December as they light up some of the trees during the Christmas season. It was quite a picturesque display, very peaceful and dare I say a romantic setting. Great for night photography with the variety of colors and designs. It's a perfect getaway from the asphalt and concrete jungle. Outside of the Christmas season lights the garden is quite a relaxing place to visit where you can see local plants and trees.

The botanical gardens is quite big—good for walks, picnics and a quiet place to read or chat. The grounds are well kept with many types of plants and trees. The best time to go is during the week when it’s not crowded. Right in the heart of Scarborough, it’s opposite one of the public car parks. One disappointment though was the very unclean toilet facilities. Although there was toilet paper, the toilet couldn’t flush, nor was there water in the sink. The garbage bin also needed emptying. Other than that, it’s a wonderful serene place to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Only 4 stars due to the lack of labelling of the plants. Tourism guides are only there when a cruise ship is in - we were fortunato that there was. The two ladies were informative & friendly.

This is a very worthwhile place to visit in Scarborough. It is quiet. clean, nicely appointed and offers a very relaxing place to sit and view the harbor below. There are some unusual trees here, Indian Almonds and some very old tall trees whose name I'm not sure of. There are friendly guides on hand who are more than willing to answer questions. They take pride in the place and well they should; it is a beautiful garden.

If you have young children and need some timeout with them in an easily accessible space away from the crowds, this is ideal. There are lots of shady areas with tropical plants everywhere... ideal for a family outing. It is right in Scarborough and has parking from 2 access points.
