The beach is clean and the water is clear, making it great for swimming and snorkeling. You can also enjoy delicious local food from nearby eateries. The friendly locals and peaceful vibe make it a special place to visit. Plus, there’s a nearby rainforest and waterfall to explore. Highly recommend for a tranquil getaway.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 29 May 2024
- Marissa W4 contributionsLaid Back Fishing VillageCastara Bay is charming! laid back fishing village with a welcoming local vibe. The golden sands and clear waters are perfect for a day of sunbathing, snorkelling and swimming, we especially liked little bay not the big one! - it's a hidden secret :) There are a few quaint restaurants and bars nearby offering local cuisine. A perfect spot to unwind and enjoy Tobago’s natural beauty.Visited June 2024Travelled with familyWritten 28 June 2024
- Madeleine CGrantham, United Kingdom54 contributionsParadise!Gorgeous Castara Bay. Not just the scenery but the people and hustle and bustle that make this authentic perfection. Don’t miss the steel pans. Don’t miss scoops of happiness. Don’t miss Drew’s pies on bonfire night - one of the best things I’ve ever tasted! Don’t miss Duck’s Grill - his friendliness is unmatched and his food is superb! I’m only sad we didn’t actually sample the snorkelling and swimming here as we were closer to English Man’s Bay so I guess we’ll just have to come back! I heard it’s particularly good on Little Castara Bay.Visited March 2024Travelled with familyWritten 6 September 2024

I love the scenery, the birds ,the surrounding forests the choice of restaurants. The friendliness of the people. I love where we stayed. The music.
I didn't love the constantly polluted air from smoking and bonfires, both on the beach and reaching our balcony and I wouldn't recommend Little Beach for anyone who has throat or breathing problems.

My husband and I went there to snorkel and explore the village. The drive there took us over an hour from Buccoo, about 15 miles. The beach facilities are wonderful, with showers, dressing rooms and toilets. We tried to pay the posted 1TT charge, but they did not want to take it. The beach has plenty of shade and there is parking very close, albeit not many spaces, but it is not crowded at all. We found the water cloudy and not many interesting fish or coral. We went to the right side of the beach.
We also got there early enough to order our loaf of bread and coconut drops at the outdoor clay bakery. This happens on Thursday and Saturday, I think. We went back at 3:00, but did have to wait until 3:40 to get our bread, but it is a very interesting event to observe and the bread is delicious.

We chose Keino Twin Island Tours: 5 Star, tour. Keino took us to the rainforest, waterfalls, Castara and Charlottesville, a lovely round trip stopping at places of interest and photos of the amazing scenery onroute. We received a great balance of interesting facts and space to enjoy the day. Really great tour guide

This is a lovely little bay on the north side of the island full of local businesses and local places to stay. Worth a visit but a good hours drive from Crown point along potholed roads. Combine with a visit to Englishman’s bay. If staying here it is worth considering hiring a car as Castara is quite small with only a limited choice of bars and restaurants and things to do.

Local and tourist activity. The dirt ovens, restaurants, watching fishermen, shops, ice cream, and people watching were better here than on any other beach/bay we visited. I loved Castara, and if we are ever lucky enough to return to Tobago, we will definately spend a few days here.

A nice friendly town. Good food all around. Events are held on the beach on Friday (BBQ), Saturday bon fire and Pan artists on Wednesday. Fishermen reel in their nets from the beach. Lots of fun helping them out. They bake bread 'the old way', and tastes great! Fresh fish to eat (or buy) where ever you go in town. There is a nice restaurant for couples that is about 100 feet off the beach. They only seem to be open on the weekend.

I love this beach for a nice soak even though it’s used mainly for the fisherfolk. Take a walk all the way down on the left for the best bathing spot. Water was calm enough for a relaxing bath, no fighting with the waves at all. I liked the well kept beach facilities was able to shower before taking the long drive back to Magdelena.
