Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

But nothing really to see, except for the carnival days, when the place is very lively. The rest of the time just a big empty space. You need to go around for the zoo and botanical garden. The locals told us that is not quite 100% safe to cross through the savannah. Better get a cab, it is a long walk.

The North Stand was missing this year.that was the fun stand in years gone by. The grand stand was too far back from the stage and boring. Need to bring it back, better built and more fun.

Queen's Park Savannah is a large park in Port of Spain. A walk around the perimeter of the park is full of things to see. On one side if the President's House, the Botanic Garden, and the Emperor Valley Zoo. On another side are the Magnificent Seven. These are seven beautiful buildings, each one more impressive than the next. You also have the Performing Arts Centre.

I live in Maraval and work in Port of Spain, and, as such, drive around the Savannah twice a day. I have jogged and also walked around it, on many occasions. What utter rubbish to say one takes one's life in one's hands to go near it at night. Lone, female joggers are still a regular sight at dusk and after dark. Trinidad is far from perfect and the crime rate is high, but one should perhaps examine the types of crimes and who is perpetrating them against whom. Of course one can be at the wrong place at the wrong time, and one should exercise proper caution in Trinidad. I have no hesitation in going anywhere and never feel unduly concerned for my safety at all.

The Savannah was nice 40 years ago. Now, like everything in T&T, it is dangerous and run down. The mansions are all falling apart, and look like they have been left in that state deliberately. At night, you take your life in your hands by walking near the park. The police are corrupt and useless.

The Savannah, at one time, had a trolley car running around it, and a lovely band stand, that featured music in the afternoons.

The zoo is worth spending a day at, which right off the park. However, as with every activity in Trinidad, be aware of your surroundings and don't flash your money around.

There is nothing better than walking around the Queens Park Savannah on a hot and sunny day, stopping long enough to enjoy it's beautiful shady trees. If you get warm and thirsty no problem, enjoy a refreshing, tasty and ice cold snow cone.

I've been visiting Trinidad every other month for the past year for work, and have always been impressed by the amount of people exercising around the Savannah. The Savannah is huge, and although; as stated in another review; it’s not by any means a US park; but it offers all a vast amount of green space with designated areas for Cricket, & football. I've personally jogged around the Savannah; which is approx. 2.2 miles around; and never felt threatened or even unsafe for that matter. The only spot that I would say is even questionable to jog alone at night is the corner that leads towards Maraval, and I only say that because it’s not very well lit.

I've also visited the parking lot near FC Bank on Thursday & Weekend nights to eat food from the many vendors that set up shop.

As always I find that as long as you r vigilant of your surroundings you will be fine, and I say this about any where u go; whether in the US or abroad.

The park itself is a hude plot of grass, trash, and homeless. This is not a park by USA standards, however compared to the poverty throughout Port of Spain I can see why locals think it is special (grass is not common). Around the park are several large historic homes that were amazing in thier day but are run down today. We drove around the park many times (locals told us it is known as the worlds largest round about) , however I would not feel safe walking around it. You will find coconut vendors parked beside the park and for $5TT he will cut it open for you to drink the juice then you give it ack and he cuts it again so you can eat the insides.

I jogged the Savannah on my first day in POS as a way to purge the overnight plane ride from my system. It stands out to me as one of the most pleasant things I've ever done. I was able to take in the 'feel' of Trinidad just by circling the Savannah. The mountain views off in the distance were breathtaking - to me it was a respite in spite of the cars whizzing by. The Savannah is flanked by the Botanical Gardens and a Zoo among other things, but I didn't visit either of those. As in other large cities, there are some homeless people, but this did not bother me, and using your street smarts is always a good idea anyway. The best sign to me was that the park was well-used by locals. If it's good enough for them, then it's good enough for me!

Also visited for the Panorama competition and just to lime. Vendors selling food and souvenirs throughout if that's your thing.

Queen's Park Savannah is very close to Port of Spain downtown. World's largest traffic round about. You will always see people walking or running around the park. Weekends and evening you will see people playing football, cricket or rugby. The park has a pay and use toilet. It is safe to walk around the park during daytime. There are number of attractions that are along the circumference of the park. To name a few see map.
