Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We took a quick boat ride from reggae beach on St Kitts to Oualie beach on Nevis ($20 pp or negotiable) . You can take a cheap cab ride to Pinneys beach near Charlestown. Cabbies regard this beach by the restaurant name “ sunshine bar or lime beach bar” we had great lunch at lime beach bar and they arrange you a free umbrella and a beach chair. There is no bar service at the beach but you can walk to any of these bars to pick up a drink. lime beach bar gives u a bucket of beer for a great price to take with u.
Water here was amazing with a beautiful view of st kitts. Kids did ride jet-ski on the beach for a nominal price. We told our cabbie to come back in few hours to pick us up. Definitely worth spending 3/4 hours on this beach

Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Food was good, not fancy in informal type atmosphere. Killer Bees drink did not taste strong but packed a punch - would recommend trying it! Beach was pretty, our family stayed the day with 5 between 25 and 60 and all had a great time. Easy to get there via water taxi (~8 minutes). Bring your own entertainment if you are not a beach person, but great place to read a book & swim and wander 30 yards for something to eat or drink.

We had the best beach day at Pinney Beach! My family (50, 51, 17, 17, 11) spent a beautiful Sunday at Pinney Beach. The beach is clean! The chair and umbrella rent was reasonable. I think they charged us $25 for 5 chairs and 2 umbrellas for the whole day. There were several beach bars in our vicinity for drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and an ice cream stand as well. The water is so clear and the temperature of it refreshing but, not cold. We had a couple of showers but, they didn’t last long. It was the cleanest beach we had been on since we landed in St. Kitts. Loved it!

We had an excursion off our sailboat that ended with lunch at Pinney beach.
After a jerk chicken lunch we had 90 minutes to just relax in the sun and hang in the water. The water is super calm and very clear. Highly recommend making the stop.

Decent sandy beach with lots of shells and rocky bottom in the water so I recommend a pair of swim shoes. It was clean and had Sun loungers available for about $5 US. Food and drink available at a couple beach front bars.

We stopped at Pinney’s Beach on Nevis as part of a Celebrity cruise excursion.
The beach and staff were very nice. Beach sand is a little different that the usual white beaches but it’s not rocky in the water (mostly shells and corral).
They have many restaurants and bars and stuff with change rooms and bathrooms.
A very pleasant visit

What a lovely beach on Nevis but it had quite a strong undertow the day we visited. A lifeguard on hand and drinks with plenty of sun beds hammocks and shade. Showers also available on the beach

The weather wasn't at its best the day we visited Pinney's Beach. On a sunny day it would be a great place to spend the day lazing under the palm trees with a Caribbean cocktail in hand. Plently of places to eat and drink at the south end of the beach. It wasn't busy when we were there - we were the only ones around until lunchtime.

I did not spend much time here but I love the time that I did. Beautiful beach that is not crowded. Mountainous background. Beautiful Four Season resort nearby. Beautiful blur water. Wish I was still there.

Fabulous beach away from the crowds. Very laid back atmosphere with sunbeds, food & drink options. Chose to go to Nevis as had been to St Kitts several times. Easy walk from the cruise terminal to Nevis ferry and short taxi to beach. Interesting museum to Alexandra Hamilton near Nevis Ferry if you are interested. Highly recommend this trip.

Assuming it's sunny all day, is morning or early afternoon better for snorkeling visibility? I'll be coming from St. Kitts so I want to avoid the cruise crowds if possible.

That depends on the weather really... Mid morning seems to be the best

Hi, If we are porting on a cruise ship in Basseterre what is the best & most time/cost effective method of transportation to Pinney's Beach? I have read water taxis but wasn't sure what to plan or reserve.

Water taxi worked great for us — took about 40 minutes from St. Kitts to Nevis. Loved Pinney’s beach — go to Sunshine’s for their great Killer bee!

What transport is available from cruise terminal to Pinney`s Beach
Written 22 November 2016
I arrived by boat. I would suggest a taxi from town. You could walk it if you really wanted to.

What is the estimation of tour costs? And, is it per person? Or, per bus/van full?
I've been to St. Kitts twice before. Both occasions, our group has gone to the same beach spot. This time there will just be 2 of us. Would love to see more of the island and other beaches.
Thank you!

We actually booked the trip to Nevis through the Marriott where we were staying. However, there are many personal options outside of this one. Most of the cab drivers are de facto tour guides and can arrange to pick you up from your lodgings and transport you to the ferry location with instructions on going to Nevis. Nevis as I'm sure you are aware is another island close by (about 30 minute ferry ride).
Personally, I think a package through one of the tour operators is much easier as they handle your ferry fees, access and arrange a tour with lunch included and beach time on Nevis.
