This is a remote beach down the end of a bumpy road/ track. Location and views are lovely. Having said that the mess and rubbish on the beach and amount of plastic shows the damage we do to the planet!! Could be lovely with some care and attention.

For the beautiful island of Nevis, this is an embarrassment . The amount of plastic and garbage littering the beach is appalling . It is just another example of how plastic is causing severe pollution. It has been estimated that in less than fifty years there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. This beach mess can be... wow.....this is where you will see the effects of plastic on our environment....first of all to get to Windward beach, you will definitely need a car. then you go past the old racetrack and follow the trail until you hit the dunes. Park and walk across the dunes to a wild beach.....now the objective is to find a place to... More

But that's not to say it isn't beautiful in its own way. Be prepared for a bumpy drive--and park when you see the sign for White Bay and walk the rest of the way. Don't go any farther by car or you risk getting stuck. It is remote. The surf is rough. There is a lot of seaweed and garbage.... More

Windward Beach (AKA Indian Castle) is located at the end of Hanley Road. Turn left at the end, go past the old horse race track and park at about N 17 6.954' W 62 32.969' When we were here some years ago, the beach was nice. Big waves and rough surf. This time (February 2016) the whole area from Dog... More

Its a little remote (about 12 min off the main rd.) being secluded is not hard to do in Nevis anyways, Lots and lots of trash, seaweed aside since its natural is also deep here. Lots of Donkey dung. Waves were a little high for swimming but may work for other activities. There are other much better and cleaner beaches... More

Can't seem to find a spot to review Nesbit Beach, so I'll stick it here since it's just down a bit form Windward. Go in through the resort entrance then hang right to a parking area right on the beach. Staff directed us, very helpful. The resort leaves a couple of chairs on the beach for non-resort beach goers, which... More

Windward is a fantastic beach that is free from any commercialisation - the beach is accessible down a small track and does not disappoint. The wild dunes lead you to a long stretching beautiful beach, and since it is on the Atlantic side of the island, it can have large waves which are perfect for body boarding.

Windward Beach is picturesque and wild. It is unimproved; there are no facilities of any kind there. It is indeed on the Atlantic coast of Nevis. The West Indies are a chain of volcanic islands that are situated where the Atlantic plate and the Caribbean plate meet. The Caribbean is on the western side of all of the Leeward Islands;... More

The article says Windward Beach 'is on the Atlantic coast.' We are making our first visit to Nevis soon. I've always assumed that all of Nevis is in the Caribbean, since there are Caribbean islands to it's east and north. So, does Nevis really have an Atlantic coast, or is that just the shorthand way of referencing the east coast... More
