This is by far the best and simplest way to explore the island. We were able to circle the whole island on a cruise port day. You can find completely empty black sand beaches and see the tourist spots. They were waiting for us right outside the port and everything was quick and seamless. The ATV ran great.

Very helpful and professional guys. Be sure to check everything and take photos of any scratches etc. Bikes are pretty strong Chinese made 150cc. Not as smooth and as fast as Hondas but the big fat wheels help on the rough roads.

Pros: Brilliant way to explore parts of the island not normally seen by public transport. Much cheaper than a car. Great way to keep cool in hot weather. Get to chat with locals when you lose your way! The best way to see the south peninsula.

Cons: Be careful on roads as there's lots of repairs so it's a bumpy ride most of the time. Be careful to cover up your exposed bits...I burnt my arms and knees before realising it!!

We went to a competitor on Bay Street, with a splashy website. Didn't care for them at all. Not friendly at all. In contrast, Winston, with Sunny Blue Scooter Rentals, was very friendly, personable and -- they were cheaper! Additionally, Sunny Blue Scooter Rental included the temporary St Kitts driver license in the price. Their competitor didn't -- in fact, they directed you to go to the fire department to get the license -- too much hassle!!

I highly recommend Sunny Blue Scooter Rentals. They had nice, fast scooters! The scooters were in great shape and they provided free transportation from/to the cruise ports.

We circumnavigated the entire island, include the southern peninsula area. Be aware, that the northern "loop" can be rough at times, so you really should have experience with a scooter/motorcycle. Additionally, they drive on the left side of the road in St Kitts.

Pros: Cheaper than most shore exursion cruise operator sells, Very FUN way to visit at your own pace.

Cons: "kinda" need some experience,

The pick-up: Well, maybe there's room for improvement here, imagine 3000+ cruise ship pax all getting off at the same place with 10s of tour operators/excursion sellers/taxi drivers/etc and trying to find someone with a small 12x12 inches "Sunny blue" sign. Once we found the guy, it was a quick ride to get our temporary "island driver" licence at Avis (Yes, you MUST get one of those... 25$ extra... took no more than 10 minutes) and then another short drive to the rental location.

Getting our scooter: Sunny blue is set up in a small street just off the main road. Two shipping containers, 1 as storage and 1 as office, is what you find. It is clean and look good for a Island small business. The process went quick sign here sign there, take a picture of you and the scooter as proof of condition of equipment. And then you get to demonstrate your skills before they let you go... "Go to the end of the street and u-turn" was the test, fortunately for me, i had previous experience... but imagine how easy it would be for someone without any previous experience to get away with that.

The Ride: Winston, the owner tells you to get out there, turn left and good luck... and that put you directly in Basseterre which is the most taffic you'll get anywhere on the island... once you reach the "out of town" the traffic becomes very seldom and we had some very long period without seeing any cars, speed limits seems to be 40, kph or mph no idea, anyway speed limit only seem to be posted for monkeys cause people drive at their speed, whether it is fast or slow.

There's a couple of sightseeing attraction around the island, botanical garden, fortress, old sugar mill, the so famous Black rocks that we never saw and then you end up in the beach and hotel area where you can find a nice spot to cool off.

The end: Ok now... where is Sunny blue? oh yeah... that small street just off the main... I hope you had some visual landmark recorded in your mind. In other words, it could be difficult to get back to the office. I have a pretty good sens of orientation and still had to ask around to get back to the place.

The scooters: I've rented scooters in several other Countries... Those where the best overall condition scooter I've rented. Enough power for me and passenger.

CAUTION:
- They drive on the left, yup, like in the UK.
- Experience needed, not a full load but some of it... If you venture a bit, there is some crazy steep hill on that island. There will be cars passing you, keep an eye on that mirror.
- Speed limits seem optional.
- There's chances that a dog/goat/cow/donkey/rooster/monkey/child/other cross the road anytime/anywhere, keep your attention on the road and speed down.
- Those scooters aren't 50cc... they are 150cc... therefore they could be heavy for smaller people.

P.S. To the other reviewers who said roads where full of potholes, I actually enjoyed better road conditions in St Kitts than what I have here in Canada.

We were in St. Kitts for a day while our cruise ship was in the port last week. My brother-in-law had made arrangements with Sunny Blue Scooter Rentals a week or so before we arrived to rent two ATVs. The process was very smooth and easy. A driver was waiting for us in the port at the time we had arranged. It took less than 10 minutes to get from the cruise ship to the rental shop. After we arrived at the shop, it took about 10 minutes to get a one day St. Kitts driver's and to have a tutorial on how to work the ATV and then we were on our way. The ATV had some storage room under the seat. It easily held two towels, two water bottles, and some sunscreen.

We started out by driving to Major's Bay. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous! We stopped at Mill, a fun coffee shop located in Frigate Bay near the golf course on our way back to the main road. Next, we drove the main road around the island. Once again we had great views. We stopped at Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park and ate lunch in the canteen there while overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The chicken was delicious and we enjoyed the history of the fort. We continued our drive around the island and back to rental shop. There is a gas station near the rental shop where we filled up the ATV for about $6.

The great part of having an ATV was that you could see everything so clearly while you were driving and you could also easily get to the small secluded beaches along the way. If you are on the island for a day, this is a great way to see it!

Just finished our day with 2 scooters from Sunny Blue Scooter Rental. I'm rating the day average primarily for one reason - the damage fees at the end of the day. Overall the bikes are excellent quality, very powerful, and quite heavy. Winston was polite and business-like. Unfortunately, when I was first getting adjusted to the bike I lost balance at a Stop sign, and the bike fell over. The bike is very heavy for someone my size (5'1" & 155lbs) which I think contributed to my instability at the start. I wasn't strong enough to be able to put the bike on it's kickstand. Winston witnessed this. Yes it caused minor scratches and I did say that I knew I'd have to pay for those damages. However, instead of being concerned about my well-being, Winston said this is why I should have experience riding scooters. IF he was that concerned for me, and my ability, don't you think he would have suggested I not take the bike out? He never said such a thing. Additionally, I do have experience, I rode here in St. Kitts last year with a competitor (whose is closed for the off season so we couldn't rent there this time.). I did fine the rest of the day, and there were no further issues with the ride.

Upon return, I learned that the scratch/repairs would be a $100US. When attempting to negotiate with him, and despite his being an owner, he stated this was the minimum policy for damages and he wasn't able to go against the policy. The thing is, you won't find any schedule of costs outlined in the contract/policy. I take ownership for the damage I caused but am primarily concerned with the lack of detail around the contract and what really felt like being taken advantage of.

So my words of advice:
1. Read the contract closely
2. Remember you truly are at their mercy
3. Have "experience" riding scooters
4. Wear sneakers
5. Know the contract is up for interpretation

I wish Winston and his "12 years in business" much success. I won't be recommending Sunny Blue Scooters now or in the future.

I had rented 2 scooters from Sunny Blue rentals for the 25th of February. Sunny blue had a reasonably up to date web site and seemed legit. On the Saturday evening (the 22nd) we left port, we happened by a wifi spot and I received an email from Sunny Blue stating that they were cancelling one of the scooter rentals due to maintenance issues. They were not able to offer another one since a larger group wanted to rent those. So, the email stated that I was only going to get the one and reminded me that if I didn't cancel the remaining scooter within 24 hours that I would be charged the full amount. It was blind luck that I got that email since I was outside of my cell phone range. Cancelling the reservation after the cruise began seemed like a shady way of forcing a cancellation fee. The whole scenario felt underhanded.

Keep in mind also, these rentals are also "shared" with Liz at Pereira Tours. I did get a chance to speak to Liz though and she seemed very straight forwards and helpful.

Suggestion: Rent a car from Hertz. They were awesome at accommodating us and the drive was far easier. To say the roads in St. Kitts are horrible is an understatement. In several places I wouldn't have made it in a scooter. So it all turned out for the best anyway. If you do use Sunny Blue, make sure you check your correspondence thoroughly up to the day you port in St. Kitts.

We rented 2 ATVs with this company, there was a mechanical issue with the ATV. They were very courteous, brought us a new ATV, assured us that the issue was not ours, we completed our tour and had a great time.

That is where the fun stopped. When we got back to the office to return the ATV, they informed us that they were going to charge us $350 dollars for the repair of the brake system, claiming it was our fault.

I ended up emailing them to try to resolve the situation. They responded and stated they had explained the they always explain the front and back braking system during pickup and it was our fault for misuse. That was a completely false statement. The young attendant never even told us there was a rear breaking system on the bottom of the ATV. You can hook me, my son and wife up to a lie detector.

When I asked them if they were responsible to give basic instructions on the ATV unit, they did not even respond to my questions and promptly charge my credit card, with no resolution. Very poor customer service. User beware!!! I told them I would right a bad review detailing my experience and have no choice but to follow through!!

On April 14th, 2023, Will H submitted his review on TripAdvisor. We responded on April 16th, 2023. Will H later deleted his Review - resulting in our Response to be deleted. Will H reposted his Review on April 19th, 2023; tailoring his current Review to our original Response. On April 8th, 2023, Will H rented 2 ATVs from Sunny Blue. He completed his paper work at our office and was taken to his ATVs by our Bike Attendant. Will H and his family were shown how to operate the ATVs, as this is a standard and compulsory practice within Sunny Blue. Our Management Team also checked our security cameras, which showed our Bike Attendant “going over” the instructions. The ATVs were driven around the island for the entire day, however while driving an ATV, the brakes were being used the entire time while accelerating the ATV. This caused the Back Brake Caliper to be set on fire, causing substantial damage. Both ATVS were fairly new Units, as they were only in our fleet for approximately 4 months. At the office we explained to Will H that he would be charged for the damages, however he told us that he would give us a bad review if he was charged. Unfortunately, we could not waive such charges. In his previous review (which has been deleted), Will H stated that he sent us an email and we never responded to his email. He also stated the charge was fraudulent - which both were not true. We are deeply saddened about this event, as we strive to make every customers’ experience an enjoyable one. We are a small “Mom and Pop” Business, which unfortunately do not have the capacity to waive charges likes large Corporations & Chain Enterprises.

The scooters are in great condition and we enjoyed our day...until, we got back with a scratch. I will say we did cause the scratch and were prepared to pay to fix it. They charged us $270 for A SCRATCH. At first he tried to tell us he had to pay $85 to replace 2 panels then he started back padding and telling us he had to pay a painter to paint 2 scratches. I will never again rent from them. Be warned the price is good because they will take you for everything for a minor scratch.

We ported off Royal Caribbean's harmony ship for just the day; as we left the ship we asked a couple people who might be renting scooters. A nice young man was holding a sign who showed us the way to a van - they transported us to the scooter office just three minutes away from the dock. You have to pay for a permit to drive which cost $25 you have to pay that in cash for the government and $50 to rent a scooter for a day. Lots of fun in the sun for a nominal fee! The hardest part was driving down their dirt driveway which got a little sketchy but we did just fine once we hit the pavement. We wish we had more time to stay on the island it was absolutely beautiful. We returned to the office and they transported us immediately to the dock. Very nice group of people! I didn't bring my camera but the memories will stay with me!
