Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A War Memorial erected in 1926 honoured soldiers from St Kitts and Nevis who died during WW I. Later replaced with an obelisk in 1955. This Cenotaph also recognizes sacrifices made by WW II servicemen from sister islands and Anguilla. Not particularly prominent but an important site for what it signifies.

The War Memorial is set in Basseterre western suburbs. It is convenient to visit if driving westwards, towards Romney Manor or Brimstone Hill fort.
The memorial is a simple obelisk, erected in honor of those fallen in WWI and WWII.
However, the main reason for coming here are terrific views of St. Kitts capital and sea.

Located on the outskirts of the town this monument is a small but thought provoking memorial to the men of the island who fought in various global wars. My wife and I spent a short while reflecting when we had a short stop off in the area.

It is in a nice area - not to crowded , so you can stop and take a peek at it. It is small but clean.

This is a lovely war memorial at the north end of Basseterre. It has lovely views and lovely old cannons. Well worth spending 30-60 minutes resting and looking.

Nearby you can watch the national birds, brown pelicans, dive-bombing into the sea to catch fish.

An impressive monument overlooking the ocean. A short walk from the port and the ocean view is great the length of the walk.

There was only 26 men that served in WW I and II from St Kitts. The monument serves as a reminder of their sacrifices during the great wars.
