Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited on the Blue Water catamaran half day cruise. This was the snorkel and lunch stop. Deep water to rear of boat with marine shelf to front but all very calm. Reasonable variety of marine life to look at with some corals. Shipwreck at far end of the bay.

Spent a lovely day here on a catamaran, snorkeling and swimming as part of a day trip on my cruise. Loved it but there were not many fish to see that day.

Good clear water with a modest amount of fish. Even a couple of barracudas underneath the catamaran. Good to tour around underneath for an hour. Even a shipwreck.

Stopped here on our catamaran day sail, it was a quiet spot with hardly any other boats which was nice, but being fairly experienced snorkell/divers, the marine life was not great. For first timers this would not be a problem as there were plenty of fish but not much colour and small coral life was not in great shape. Overall, would come here again as it's a pleasant way to spend an hour as part of a day trip and every day is different under the water so who knows - maybe some turtles or rays next time.

I would not recommend this. The trail was not very exciting and it was littered with garbage. The ship wreck at the end is kind of cool, but beach is all rocks and overall not worth it.

Took a catamaran snorkel stop to this bay. the water was very calm and the snorkeling was quite good. Lots of smaller fish were seen. The hill behind was steep jungle with wondering goats. Worth while.

Well, the joke that is told every day on the catamaran, is "I'm not shitten you". It's sort of funny the first time. But, the snorkel experience is probably the best in SK. About 18 feet deep of crystal clear water, lots, I mean lots of colorful reef fish and the occasional sea turtle, octopus or whatever. If deep water makes you nervous, the crew of Spirit or Liamiuga, will offer float "noodles" to cling on to. Spirit of St. Kitts was originally built as a racing cat by the Baron Edmund de Rothschild. Overall good fun. Another of the must see things in St. Kitts. Along with Brimstone Hill and Romney Manor. That's my 2 cents anyway.

Sailed with Purple Turtle Charters to Shitten Bay where we snorkeled around a wrecked ship.
Saw stingray and squid along with a lot of colorful fish.
Beautiful and serene

There are a few places to moor and a large area to explore. A lot of fish to see and there is a partially submerged ship wreck to explore as well.

This was my second time to Shitten Bay via a catamaran excursion and it was just as fun this time as it was the last. There is a large area for you to snorkel in with a fair amount of coral, lots of fish and an old shallow shipwreck to explore. The area has not been developed so you almost feel like you are in the Caribbean wilderness while you are enjoying the water and the sun. I hope they continue to protect this area from development so we can continue to enjoy the area's rugged beauty both on land and below. Although it is not really a beach area, I will probably snorkel here again the next time I am in St. Kitts because it is an enjoyable area to swim in.
