Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our group of eight did the tour and tasting at the Wingfield Estate Plantation and Ruins. We throughly enjoyed every aspect of the afternoon. Our tour guide, Bon Jovi, and the bartender Quan were both not only extremely knowledgeable, but also extremely personable. They made a our day a complete delight.

We absolutely loved this tour! Got 3 full beverages (two delicious cocktails and a liquor tasting), incredible historical knowledge, and just a beautiful day in St Kitts! Germain (our tour guide) told us all we ever needed to know about the history and distillery, and also about the local plants and area. It was really beautiful, adjacent to the rain forest (making a lovely breeze on a hot day). Germain was incredibly knowledgeable and makes a delicious cocktail. We highly recommend

We stopped in past here as part of a tour with Austin Powers Tours. It’s a very interesting place to visit stepping back in time. Good descriptions on each area you visit describing the purpose of the buildings or machinery.
Well worth a visit if in St Kitts.

We stopped and walked these ruins when we were on Annie's Tours. These ruins were very interesting. This helped visualize what times were like in the old days. Just be careful walking as there are some areas that are not easily navigated. Not sure why, but there was a really old rusted tractor there.

Wonderful tour with lots of history and beautiful grounds. It was interesting to learn the history of the sugar mil and Rum distillery and see the excavation still in process. This was a welcome stop on our visit to St Kitts.

Our tour guide stated that we could make a stop here on our way to Romney Manor. We are very glad that we asked him to stop since we got to see the remnants of an old Sugar Mill that is currently being reconstructed. It was very informative and worth the stop.

These ruins are the remains of an 18th century Sugar Cane Plantation and Rum Distillery. They are part of the Wingfield Estate and are on the current Romney Plantation land. The ruins are in pretty good condition and give an idea of the size of these plantations. The remains encompass boiling houses, storage areas, stables, dormitories, workshops, and more. Archaeological digs appear to be in progress.
Enjoy.

It’s worth a stop if in the area. There is lots of locals selling stuff so be prepared. The ruins themselves are a quick 10 minutes to walk around.

The ruins are quite interesting and there are good explanation board everywhere. It really gives you a good overview of what a sugar and gin plantation would have been like.

Stopped here on way to Romney Manor. This was awesome! well preserved and the historical staff are doing a great job excavating then adding markers, photos, etc. Could have walked around here for an hour at least.

Can you visit these ruins on your own or do you have to be on a tour with a tour company? We will be hiring a driver for the day.

If you have driver you can visit without problems, and near ruins you can find Romney Manor a very nice place where you can see how they paint manual Carribelle Batik
