After several years of vacationing on Little Cayman, I finally made my way over to Owen island. Owen Island is a small undeveloped island not far from the southern shore. I chose to snorkel from the beach near Head of Bay. There was current but it was not too difficult a snorkel. I would recommend fins. At the Island, I... More

Owen Island is the lesser known fourth Cayman Island that can be accessed by kayak or paddle board. It's not plagued by tour groups so grab a pair of binoculars, check there are no other kayaks and get out there for your own Robinson Crusoe experience. Take your snorkelling gear and laze in the warm water. Take some supplies because... More

The only trace of human activity on this island is a sign that reads: Private Property, Visitors Welcome, Please Do Not Litter. We kayaked over with beers, sat in the white sandy water and enjoyed the tranquility!

Easy kayak trip from Southern Cross Club. Conch shells galore! Lots of tide pools to explore. Shallow clear warm water where you spot turtles and sting rays. Paradise!

A fun jaunt to Owen Island on a rented kayak. Nothing to do on the island except swim and relax. I would suggest taking shoes if one wanted to explore the island. A beautiful piece of nature and we were fortunate to have it all to ourselves for our visit

We took a kayak over to Owen Island and it's a lovely spot. We just pulled up onto the beach then had a good look around. Does't take long to walk around the island as it's not big but plenty to see and look at. Nice beach one side with a rocky side too. Close to the reef. Didn't see... More

Owen Island is an easy kayak paddle over from Southern Cross Club resort. It was a very windy day, so we had to plan our route over the straight, but we made it with just a bit of extra effort. The only down-side was overly expensive kayak rental: $60 for 2 hours = excessive.

Owen Island is a wonderfull small island. We visited this for a afternoon for relaxation. Just lay in the water, took a zip and enjoy the stingrays who came to swim by. Thanks to our tourguide Joe Tourtist who took us there.

Grab a kayak, paddle board, or simply swim across the lagoon to this tranquil little island. Explore the shoreline for critters, snorkel, lay on the sandy beach. Easy excursion. Don't forget the sunscreen.

Owen Island is a very small, privately owned island just off the shore of Little Cayman. You can see Owen Island from the Sunset Cove Resort where we were staying. One day we kayaked over to Owen Island form the Sunset Cove Resort and spent a few hours on this small island. It was an awesome experience spending time on... More
