We traveled with 2 seniors (80+), who were able to manage the 10 minute walk, and then the narrow ladder going down into the sub (there are handrails on both sides). Once in, there is a long bench seat that allows everyone to sit at one of the sub's windows. It was a much better experience than snorkeling as all family members participated, and the Guide was able to answer every question, identify fish and corals, and provide a great deal of information.

Be prepared; the first time something exciting went by a window, the children stayed in their seats, by the third time, they were too excited and would race to a window. For us it added to the excitement and joy; other people may not be so comfortable with a little child peering over their shoulder. Just know, the excitement and wonder changes your tolerance level, and you may end up calling the children over to show them what you've spotted.

It was one of the best opportunities to see reef life as the creatures were quite used to the sub and didn't bother with it at all. The sea turtle was amazing, just to see it grazing 80 feet down, unperturbed by the sub. The eel was HUGE, green, and moving along the edge of the reef. The reef fish were colorful, active, and busy; they were very fun to watch.

Scuba and Snorkeling give a similar experience, but neither allow chatting to each other, or a ready expert to answer any question. The sub is comfortable, it has printed fish guides at every seat, and of course an expert driver (with the best view), and the guide. It was a wonderful experience.

Honestly, there wasn't too much to see when you're down in the ocean, but it is still pretty cool experience. The seats were cramped and pretty narrow so if you're a little bigger and or have a big butt I recommend bringing something soft to put down and sit on. I folded up my beach towel and used that. Don't get the wrong idea though, the thing that made this trip extra special was the amazing guides. It was like an exploration and comedy club in one. Definitely something you would want to experience, just don't get the story tale version stuck in your head. There was some struggle.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our nighttime submarine tour...what a unique experience! The pilot did a great job navigating us through coral gardens and even a shipwreck, and our co-pilot Enrique kept us entertained with his jokes, stories, and knowledge. Highly recommend!!!

We disembarked the ship directly onto a ferry to the port where we waited for our tour group. We walked a few blocks to the Atlantis Submarine gift shop. The boat arrived, we boarded, and took a short ride to see the submarine come up. We saw the people disembark, get onto our boat and then we switched spots to board the submarine. We walked down the ladder into the submarine and there were rounded seats facing the portholes. Once the door was sealed we were given the all clear to "dive, dive dive". We saw the most beautiful coral, fish, eel, and tire. The captain got us to the bottom of the sea at 102 ft. Within minutes we ascended back to the surface and proceeded to switch places with the people on the boat. The boat captain let us watch the submarine descend before we went back to the Atlantis Submarine gift shop. We had time to walk and window shop before boarding the ferry back to the ship. A very organized tour and well worth the price for the time.

We opted not to schedule any excursions at our final port of call, and figured that we would stumble upon the right place at the right time.

And óila! We found the Atlantis Tour Company. We took the option that had underwater viewing rather than the submarine.

We saw a lot of different fish, but missed the stingrays on the other side. Also, we passed directly over two different shipwrecks, which was incredible.

Also, the captain set anchor and dived to hand fees the fish. Also incredible!!

If you go, just know that there are no bathrooms on board and that you must go down the ladder backwards to get to the viewing area.

This trip was part of our P&O excursion which included two other attractions. The vessel was very smart and easy to board. Unfortunately we didn’t see any unusual fish such as Sting Rays, however what we did see was plentiful and easily identified by the crew. The wrecks were very interesting but the highlight was the frenzy when the vessels diver started feeding the many fish.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review!! in terms of what you see we are unfortunately unable to guarantee stingrays.....but we are glad that what you saw was plentiful and hopefully next time you will get to see your stingray.

Depending on which Terminal you tender into, this excursion could be within sight, or if on NCL, a short walk (but lengthy for those who have difficulty walking "distance"). You get to see what shops to go to after the excursion. The facility is near Paradise Seaside Grill, but you can stop at Caribbean Kitchen on the way back. Plenty of time to shop after this. You really do go down in a mini sub, 100 feet. Holds 48 passengers and 3 crew. Enough portholes to look and take pictures. Running commentary, lots of fish and coral. Saw the end and where the seafloor simply drops off. Not rough, smooth all the way. Temperature is fine under water. Afterwards the gift shop has restrooms available. You go out on a boat to the sub, go onto the sub, climb down stairs to the seats. Afterwards, on the boat to take you back, you can watch the sub submerge. Great excursion. And yes, children love it.

We had a great trip it was not a full submarine so we got to use both sides port and starboard and that was so fun. The staff was great made the trip so much fun I would do a day submarine next because we could see more fish. The night submarine was really neat seeing everything at night and we did see a shark and some fish the staff is fantastic at answering any questions you may have.

I’ve been to the islands on many occasions but never booked the submarine tour. Boy have I been missing out. The underwater Trip was amazing with an awesome crew that kept you entertained the entire time. I don’t know why I waited so long to try this adventure. Certainly worth every penny. If you’re like me you would probably tip more than you expected!

I made a reservation several months for a vacation on Grand Cayman Island. I received email confirmation and stored it on my phone. The day of the intended excursion 3/27, my family and I left the east end of the island (Reef Resort) at noon in our rental car, an hour and a half prior to departure. We went to the counter to check in and when I pleasantly told the woman behind the counter that we had a reservation for 1:30, she first just stared at me without replying. I repeated myself and God's honest truth she smirked at me and said there were no trips out that day. We had our two little boys who were so excited to go and she actually just stared me down and then cruelly smiled at me. I got on my phone, found my confirmation number and showed it to her. She didn't care...no boat ride and my confirmation meant nothing because they'd had a server problem. I asked why someone couldn't have contacted me before we wasted 2 1/2 hours driving in. She said they must not have my contact information...even though I was standing there holding my phone with my email confirmation...as in...they had emailed me after I made the reservation to confirm. We were able to reschedule and make the 2 1/2 hour trip again the next day. I have to say, for a $280 excursion, I would have expected more class and empathy - a discount to soften the blow and the inconvenience, but only complete and utter apathy for something that certainly wasn't my fault.
