The town of Georgetown and its port are not particularly impressive. There are relatively few historical sights. For the most part, there are overpriced shops geared towards the many cruise ship passengers who briefly visit here. While I liked the Island of Grand Cayman and...More

The water is so clear and blue in Grand Cayman, it beckons to you to snorkel it as you come across in the cruise ship tender. To the left of the cruise ship port is the Fish Market and a sign that says "Balboa Beach."...More

The many shops are located within a block from the cruise ship tender pier. We have been to almost every shopping port in the Caribbean and think this area, although clean and safe provides only a poor shopping experience despite any number of upscale shops....More

We went there a couple of times with the wife and daughter. The area was clean and not threatening at all. People were very friendly and there were plenty of shops to find t shirts, clothing, jewelry, watches and lower prices on cigars and alcohol....More

Da wife, da 20 yr old boy and I spent a couple hours on a beautiful afternoon strolling around Georgetown. I was expecting a huge mass of shopping, street vendors and people like Phillipsburg, St. Maarten. Nope! Georgetown is only about 2 X 2 blocks....More

It's best to visit here, if you are staying on the island, when the cruise ships are NOT in port. You can look online and see when and how many ships come in, and what time they leave. We went into town in the morning,...More
