Try to go on a tour that gets you there early in the morning and when a cruise ship is not in port. The guide we had has a special relationship with a coouple of the rays. We were able to hold the ray and...More
Took a private charter there and spent 40 minutes playing in waist-high water in the middle of the ocean absolutely stunning crystal clear water with gentle stingrays swimming between us rubbing next to us a really great experience with nature.
These huge rays are so docile. You can actually pet them and hold them in your arms. But this is a popular activity so expect to see lots of people also. Worth the trip to see them in North Sound on the way to Starfish...More
Stingray City is truly a unique experience and the only place I am aware of where you can interact with stingrays that will swim up to you and let you touch them and experience these beautiful creatures up close and personal
We went on 8:30 cruise so hoped not too many people but there were 5 other boats. Plenty of room for all though. Everything as promised— touching , feeding and even kissing a ray. Hundres of them swimming effortlessly around. They have a good life.

Yes, absolutely. Different types of boats, catamarans make trips out to Stingray City and there are different types of ladders into/out of the water but I think that they are manageable. We had a small child on our trip who enjoyed themself very much. The water is waist-high at the shallowest but an adult can easily hold the child. The water was very calm so I would definitely give it a try!
We were advised to come in our suits, and not to bring valuables. there are no lockers, you leave your things on the boat while in the water. People will go off and on the boat while at the sand bar.
