If you have never experienced this, it is well worth the time and money. But it is so very overcrowded, that I no longer go there.

When you arrive at the port it is full of people trying to take you to their excursions to Stingrays City! And it is definitely worthy :) it is a nice experience to swim with those sweet and soft creatures. Stingray City is definitely worth a visit. It is a unique way to get close to such amazing animals in the wild and get a true appreciation for them and their habitat.

On our Caribbean cruise we stopped in Grand Cayman Island and visited Stingray City. We swam with the stingrays and sun was shining. However, due to severe wind we could not snorkel as planned. Nevertheless, we were satisfied with this excursion.

I noticed that this site seems to be very popular on the Caymans but had a great deal of hesitation about doing it since I believed that the stingrays were held in captivity. This is not the case at all. On a 4 ft sandbar stingrays come to feed from the MANY tourists who arrive by tour boats. Folks are... More

There are several companies that offer boat trips to the sandbar in the sound to feed the stingrays. We've been to GC three times now and have used the Soto tour. This particular tour used to take us to the reef first for snorkeling and then to "Stingray City". For whatever reason, they only go about three quarters of the... More

My children and I love going boating on a Sunday...and Stingray City and the North South sand bar are our favourite stop. My children are fascinated by the stingrays and how friendly they are! They love to feed them, hold them and swim with them! Every time we go it is a different fun experience...and we never get tired of going.... More

This was better than I thought it would be. It is not artificial like I thought it might be. The rays are all their on their own will and just looking for food. They are very calm and it seemed safe. This is a rare look at so many rays in the wild.

The sting ray city is approximately 4 foot deep sand bar where you take boats to snorkel and swim with the stingrays in calm waters. The guides feed the rays and you can touch and be touched by the stingrays. It's a must see if you haven't done it
