The Copper Mine has been on our itinerary since the first visit to VG in 1977. It is a reminder of what the Scottish & Welsh miners could do in the 1800's tunneling down beneath the sea to extract the copper ore which the tailings...More

Back in November 2016, my shore excursion stopped at the Copper Mine for a photo opportunity. Interesting structure that is related to the island's history. On a clear day, there are excellent views of the island and you can even see the airport in the...More

Great history experience of early island commerce. You can walk around the ruins, there is nothing else here except a bar along the way. Worth the trip!

I thought this was really neat, and it only takes an hour of your time. There is enough of the Ruins left so that you see the bldg, the well, the chimney.

Coppermine is always a stop for us when visiting Virgin Gorda. It doesn't take much time to visit, but it offers a little lesson in history for the island.
