A group of 8 people from my family had the opportunity to go on a day sail while we were staying in Cane Garden Bay. It rained all morning and by the time we got to Road Town in our open-air Safari taxi, (driven by the wonderful Capt. Friendly,) it was pouring! We were the first group to board the... More

Surrounded by sailboats on the beautiful island of Tortola, I knew I had to get on the water and experience the famous surrounding islands nearby. The 80 foot schooner "White Squall" was docked in the Marina of our hotel. Everyone said it is the best experience on the island. So, I signed up to depart the next AM. Greeted by... More

I've been out on the Whitesquall II for day sails twice now, once this year and once last year. Both times it was the best part of my trip to the BVI. The Whitesquall II is a beautiful historic schooner, with room for everyone to be comfortable either in the sun or under an awning in the shade. Cold drinks... More

We had been referred to White Squall II by friends and it was a great recommendation. We had arrived in Tortola on a cruise ship and were able to walk from the port to the dock where the White Squall ship was located. We had gone out for the day where we did some snorkeling, swimming, lounging in the sun,... More

It was difficult to find a day sail that would accomodate a group of 28 ~ but the White Squall 2 - did just that! We set sail on a gorgeous day from Virgin Gorda and headed to Cooper Island. The crew was absolutely fantastic, making sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and having a great time. We stopped at Cooper... More

My wife and I sailed with the White Squall II in October. There are many companies/boats offering day sails in BVI. We chose the White Squall II for one reason. Its an 80 ft. schooner. The boat is beautiful. It offers plenty of room to stand or sit in sun or shade. There is also plenty of "dry space" to... More

12/28/06 We highly recommend spending a day sailing aboard the White Squall II. The wooden schooner is eighty feet long and very well maintained. It was commissioned as a mine sweeper in WW II and has sailed across the ocean several times. The captain and owner of the vessel (Chris) is very knowledgeable and has been sailing the islands for... We were married in Tortola last summer and other than our wedding day, this was probably our favorite day there. Our captain, Chris, was a skilled sailor and took his job very seriously. We were supposed to go to the Baths that day but apparently there were reports of box jelly fish (very dangerous, possibly lethal)and high swell (hurricane Dennis... More

If you are ever fortunate enough to get to the British Virgin Islands you absolutely MUST spend at least one day out on the White Squall II. The ship was built in the late 1930's in Australia and has been kept in immaculate condition. A day on "The Squall" is truly a memorable day in paradise. Everything from the crew,... More

Online booking of this 9 to 4 day sail that included a delicious lunch, beverages, and all necessary snorkel gear was easy via emails to the very personable Maggie. Having been on many disappointing cruise line shore excursions in the past, I knew I wanted to avoid their mass numbers of people and higher than necessary cost. The day my... More
