Anegada or the "drowned island" is completely surrounded by shallow reefs, and has become the focal point of underwater diving due to the many historic shipwrecks that litter the island's underwater depths.

We spent a week in one of the ocean front beach huts and it was just fantastic. The tents are beautifully appointed, with wood patios overlooking the ocean. Comfortable beds and chairs and my personal favorite - the hammock on the deck. Beaches are gorgeous and go on forever. Food was excellent. Lobster - locally caught - is a must... More

My family and i were on a bar boat trip and decided to visit Anegada. We left Gorda Sound around 9am for an easy cruise, 1 hr, to anegada Setting Point Anchorage. This island is much different than the rest of the Virgin Islands as its highest point is only 28 feet high, where as Tortola's highest peak i think... More

Further out from most of the BVI's but worth the trip. We ate at the Wonky Dog and snorkeled off off Loblolly beach. The snorkeling was not great, but if you ventured out a little it got better. There can be a strong current, so beware. Before leaving we had a cocktail at the Bug Bamboo. Everyone was very friendly... More

While recently sailing on vacation in the British Virgin islands we spent several days in Anagada. We had the pleasure of enjoying a fantastic lobster dinner on the veranda at the Anagada Reef Hotel. We had a wonderful time and the staff did a beautiful job decorating the tables making it truly a magical night.

We visited Anegada for a day for the lobster festival at the end of November - unfortunately a day wasn't long enough! The island is very different to the others in the BVI, and feels very relaxed. The beaches are gorgeous, so peaceful. Would definitely return for a weekend, a day is not long enough to enjoy this gem!

Anegada Island is remote from the rest of BVI, and retains the charm from years gone by. The restaurant meals are awesome! The beaches on the north side are beautiful and typically deserted. The Settlement is charming! The people are gracious and welcoming.

Anegada is very chill--the setting is definitely different than the other BVIs--a flat spit of land out farther. It's worth the trip for the lobster. It is worth the trip (but does require some navigating).
