Surface interval between dives

Once we set anchor in the Bay at Salt Island we jumped on the dingy and headed to shore. The island is known for sea glass on the beach and shoes were required. The resort on the island had been closed and was in pretty bad shape. Char found a nice area on the beach and I decided to hike... More

We enjoyed a fabulous surface interval here between our dives. There was a nice beach and picnic table to enjoy a picnic lunch. I wouldn't probably go here though for a beach afternoon. But great between dives.

We moored on the western bay near the sunken wreck. Great snorkeling area and then took the dinghy ashore around the point to the the salt settlement pier. The waters were a bit rough here to really get a good view of the Rhone that sank here in the 1800's, but it was still very interesting. You can hike to the salt pond in the center of the island, and view the small graveyard where some of the casualties from the shipwreck are buried. Beautiful waters, but watch... More
