Fun Tuesday night experience in Grand Case
Feb. 2020
We were in SM for a week in Feb 2020 and were able to catch the Mardi Gras parade on one of the Grand Case Tuesday nights. We ate at one of the Lolos in Grant Case, I think it was called Top of the World (or Top of the Sky) and we had chicken and ribs, johnny cakes, etc. It was basic, but good. The scene down at Grand Case that night was super busy and hectic, but fun. Lots, to see and do, artist fare to buy, drinks to be had, etc. Later in the week we ate at the Lolo behind the first one (I think it was called Rib City), and it was terrible. Awful service and the food was not as good. So go to the front one with the yellow seating.

Small but excellent

Intimate French restaurant with extensive menu operated by two brothers well versed in hospitality and gourmet cooking.

Menu offers usual standard French favorites, however, their preparation differs on most. Fresh Carribiean lobster is a house specialty. Size varies from pound and a half tomorrow than 5 pounds. Preparation also varies.

unexpected Carnival Celebration

We had no idea, that Carneval was happening on the night we were in Grand Case on St. Marten. It was colorful, fun filled, and loud - it was a family affair and we loved it

Fabulous evening in Grand-Case

It was awesome to see so many people out on the street enjoying the vendors, great food and the parade. The event started at 6 pm and the parade started at 8:30. Lots of fun, great food and beautiful costumes. The Town is recovering from the hurricane and the buildings that are open are as lovely or even lovelier than before the storms.

Choices on snacks, food, there are plenty of souvenirs to choose from, lots of happy people...it can get quite busy tho, so expect to wait a while if you want something...but what's the rush?
Parking is horrible, get a cab or be prepared to walk 15 minutes back to your car

Fun local parade and vendors
Mar. 2017 • Couples
We enjoyed our Tuesday night spring street festival in late March with the parade, music, and street vendors. As we had dinner beforehand, we watched the parade, walked the length of the festival, and bought a piece of pottery from a local artist. Afterwards we went to Le Cafe de Charly (not on Trip Advisor yet)- a local wine bar for great live music from a male duo playing excellent American, English, & French music. Great casual evening out in Grand Case. Highly recommend taking a cab from other towns early as the streets close off so be sure to plan ahead to check out if street festival is happening. Highly recommend.

A Must See on Tuesday 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Mar. 2017
Make sure the festival is on as it does not run all year long. We arrived in Grand Case by 9:30 am to enjoy a full day at the beach before the festival started (hint...it is a long day so pace yourself :)). They close off the street with lots of bars, restaurants, live music, shopping and entertainment and a great time. A lot of people were dressed for a nice night out. This is an event you must see when here. We left fairly early in part because it was a long day :) and in part because we wanted to make sure we got a taxi home - when we left there appeared to be a lot of taxis but not sure if we had stayed until 10 pm. We arrived via a local bus for $2. each and went home via taxi to Marigot for $20 for two....well worth it as this is not the place to drive and never ever after any drinks.

Great place with friendly people, great food, and sights. Parade happens only certain time of the year and as the ad says it will last till they run out of money (LOL)

Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler
Feb. 2017
It's the Tuesday night street festival. With food, booze, music, street vendors and fun. So we were told. We made reservations for dinner and had the hotel shuttle take us to Grand Case. Parking is impossible on Tuesday nights and dinner reservations are a must at the best restaurants in town. With our luck the French side of St. Martin had a power failure and a lot of the entertainment left. We ate dinner by candlelight and no A/C. Once the power came on, about two hours later, the party started but we had to catch our shuttle back to the hotel.

From what we saw and were told, it looks like a good time and a definite stop.
