While the concept sounds great -- lots of local vendors -- clothing, food, arts, etc -- there is a ton of the same stuff for sale. There are only so many vendors selling identical t-shirts before it runs its course and gets a bit boring. If you haven't been to the island before, go with low expectations and enjoy strolling... Always enjoy the array of merchandise at this market. Vendors and craftsmen from the island offer their merchandise. Many attractive handmade souvenirs. Lots of tourist items also as well as a small spice market. Lots of small eateries surround this market. Nice place to visit.

As we were staying on the island for a number of days, seeing the Marigot market was a fun diversion. There were a few vendors who are artists and selling their own wares, but quite a few of the vendors all sell much of the same tourist products. Still, everyone's friendly, the setting is warm and lovely...so we enjoyed ourselves... More

Walked around with the family. Had a good time, the kids liked checking out the items for sale. It's a good place for souvenirs. Nothing too fancy, sometimes parking can be tough.

This was a great market, our group came away with wonderful local treasures from both the outside market and the shops. Something for everyone, including the outdoor cafes for those not inclined to browse.

Great stalls with lots of souvenirs and trinkets. Some good jewelry so poor buyer beware! We found some very interesting carved hardened nuts from Ecuador and bought a pair of hummingbirds sipping from a plant. Very nice. Bought it from a Brit who came to visit the island and stayed. Back in the back by the bay there is a... More

Lots of typical craft booths but some unique ones. Worth walking through if you are near but would not go out of the way to visit.

Sarafina's French Bakery was great for lunch, we enjoyed it so much we went back in evening during a power failure on the island to try and get some dinner. They were closing up but we were kind enough to serve us bread, brioches & drinks to go. Great to be able to feel safe eating as have a shellfish... More

Lots to see and quite relaxing walking about observing colourful tat. You can haggle if you wish on most products.

On a Friday with little foot traffic there's nothing but stall after stall of the same cheap crap lining the street... not worth our time nor patience-though not as pushy as some vacation destinations... time better spent elsewhere.

Thank Koverton
