Very easy hike, great views. It's a nice place at night to see the lights come on in the city and harbor.

Hoofed it the long way from main drag in Marigot. Bit of a long uphill climb from there but definitely worth it. You could also park closer but we decided to get in a good walk. Panoramic views including Simpson Bay and Philipsburg. Note: Marigot was very busy and traffic congested when we were there and believe it or not, hard to navigate with a vehicle.

We took the Seagrapes History tour. I have been visiting St Martin for nearly 20 years, but I had never been up to Fort Louis. The view of Marigot and the bays is breathtaking. I can’t believe I had missed this.

Historical Fort from yonder days, when protecting the unique St. Martin island from predators. In great condition. Best take- away, is the walk up to the top, where you can stand next to the French flag. Getting up is for moderate hikers, going down is blissful. Warm breezes, but on a hot, humid summer day, this is a killer.

If you're in Marigot the walk is long enough to be a walk and short enough not to be daunting, even on a hot day. The view from the top is nice and you get a bit of history with it.
