Excellent way to enjoy the people and culture of Gros Islet! Food was amazing and plentiful from all of the vendors. Rum punch was excellent, but try the Rude Boy - out of this world! Souvenirs on every corner. Music and dancing, better than new Orleans! Can't wait to go back!

A unique experience with the reggae beat of the island. Locals and tourists mix with the street vendors and bars for a fun evening stretching into the early morning if you want. Beware the rum punch and it’s strength. Best to arrange a taxi drop off and pick up as it gets busy. Lots of street dogs roaming around but no bother really. Relax and enjoy.

Great experience. Dancing, street sellers, party vibe, authentic food. Felt safe with both tourists and locals. Arrived early (6:30) to get fish from Dukes (a must!). Left around 10:30 after 4-5 rum punches. Taxi return to Rodney Bay for 80 EC. It's definitely worth a visit.

We caught a taxi from our hotel and arrived a little early, around 7.30 as things were just warming up. We had drinks in quite a few different bars and from street vendors and were surprised at the prices. We only paid between 20EC and 30EC for 4 drinks at most places and the most we paid was 36EC and the measures are really generous. There is plenty of food on offer, lots of meat skewers, meat & fish platters. There was music all along the street but at one end there were huge speakers stacked up about 8 feet high and you could feel the ground vibrating. This is where the majority of people were dancing. There was a really nice mix of locals and tourists and a really relaxed feel. We felt totally safe at all times. We booked our taxi back to the hotel in advance and I would suggest you arrange transport in advance as it might be difficult to arrange something late at night. We left about 12.30 and the party was still going strong.

This party happens every Friday and is a blast. We were staying in Soufriere, approximately 2 hours car ride. We utilized Majestic Taxi and Tours to make the trip and would do it again - see separate review. Come down for local and tourists to hang out, drink, listen to music and have great food. There is somethingg for everyone here and most everyone is incredibly welcoming.

Get out of the resort and check out the street party. Locals selling drinks, beers, food and wares. Similar to a walk down Bourbon St. in New Orleans except all the bars are on the outside. Great people watching experience.

Great experience. Everyone seems to end up here on a Friday evening. It’s busy, felt very comfortable there. Loads of places to get a drink, need to be patient getting your food, but well worth the wait. Recommend getting a taxi there and booking a return journey. Our driver was amazing, drove us around to get our bearings, gave us a specific pick up location.

Amazing and definitely not to be missed!! Lively and fun atmosphere. A great mix of tourist and locals of all ages. The food was awesome, music was bumpin’ 😎 make sure you bring enough cash!

Such a fun time, mixed with locals and tourists! Get ready for the locks food, delicious! And the drinks were ready for a party! Really good vibe, would recommend going to eat, drink and dance!

We had a great evening at 'Jump Up' in Gros Islet. We ate in a small restaurant a short walk from the main square. The music was great, as was the dancing in the street. We felt very safe and the locals were friendly too. A great experience while in St Lucia.
