Fine view
Mar. 2020
It was a little after 2pm we passed two hikers walking up a fairly steep road to the hill top, it was 28*C so maybe there are cooler times to take a walk, we were in a car. Having said that there’s not much room to park outside the gates but it’s possible. Normally these area with the airports radar and masts are out of limits, but the gates remain open, a short walk from the car takes you past the once great lighthouse, lower section is stone, the lantern assembly sadly metal and rotting, it’s been there since mid 1800’s reportedly having been delivered in error to the wrong St Lucia (not African one), as you walk past the lighthouse towards the cliff edge the view is fantastic, I’ve never seen so much horizon, St Vincent was visible, and the Pitons, its a fantastic vista. The are several cacti growing some on the edge, we also saw several Frigate birds and white tailed tropic birds which came to observe us. It’s well worth the drive/hike, make it a point on your list for when this dreaded virus recedes.

Great viewpoint
Jan. 2020 • Couples
Wonderful views from this spectacular and windy location at the southern tip of the island. You can either delight that the lighthouse building itself has been left rusting and abandoned as a piece of industrial and maritime history, or regret that St Lucia hasn’t invested a little money and time into opening it up to tourists and providing a couple of information boards. The road up is straightforward though watch for minibuses if tourists coming up at high speed and giving little quarter - and there are no signs, though it’s fairly clear which direction to take. There’s reasonable parking at the top by the side of the road. Marvellous views from the top, of much of the southern part of the island, and several frigatebirds and hawks to watch - bring binoculars.

A great if a bit windy viewpoint
Jan. 2020
I stayed at the Coconut Bay resort so did a hike to this place one afternoon,
The road is steep at times but good all the way so not too hard.
Just take enough water - or drive to save time.

Note that the road forks near the end, one path leads to the lighthouse itself, the other - to another hill behind it.
Both spots offer great vistas, one is better for viewing the bay and the ocean, the other - to look at the island.

There are some nice viewpoints on the way too so if you are driving you might want to stop for a pic or two.

Great View

Popped up here during our tour. You get some really good views of the island. You could see the airport and also our hotel in the distance.

If you're brave enough, if you get closer to the edge you can see cactuses that have this unusual red top to them that apparently you can only get on the cliffs here.

The walk up is so exhilarating with gorgeous views along the way. At the top are among the most breathtaking views I have ever seen in my life. Well worth a visit if you visit St. Lucia.

Must do
Apr. 2019 • Couples
Make the drive up to the top. The view is amazing and worth the drive. You can see the east and west sides of the island...the Atlantic and Caribbean seas at the same time.

Make the Drive Up

The owner where we were staying recommended that we drive up here and we are glad we did as it offered some nice views for little effort or time.

Must see

There is no charge to visit this lighthouse. It is up a very tight and windy road so I would recommend using and SUV to get there. Best view on the island. We actually went twice with two different groups of people. Try and go when it is sunny so that you can see St. Vincent.

Second highest lighthouse IN THE WORLD
Oct. 2018 • Couples
Intended to visit here before we left home. So glad we made the effort to hire a car and travel to the other end of the island to find the lighthouse. The lighthouse is closed to the public but windows are open for you to see the workings inside. St Vincent is visible a short distance away. The views are gorgeous 360* well worth the visit. Because of the height of the cliffs here children need supervising at all times.

Worth a stop before your flight
Jun. 2018 • Couples
I followed the advice of others and planned a stop here as we were between hotel checkout time and too early for our flight. I packed a picnic lunch and it was a very nice location, albeit quite windy and hot. The views were extraordinary.
