A quaint fishing village that is picture-perfect with fishing nets hanging to dry and brightly-colored boats bobbing in the harbor.

Every Friday night the small fishing village of Anse La Raye has a fish fry on the waterfront where locals bring out their grills and sell a variety of fish dishes. We went on Black Friday so it wasn’t as lively as normal we were...More

We took a taxi from our hotel in Marigot bay, you can expect to pay around 60 usd round trip, our driver was great, he dropped us at the end of the street, showed us where the washrooms were and where he would wait for...More

A wonderful Caribbean experience with fresh delicious seafood, made before your eyes. An outdoor street party at the beach complete with locals, even a few chickens, cats and dogs under the long tables...Interact with local fishermen and villagers.

We went to Anse La Raye for the Friday night fish fry. Now, certainly the island is basically empty of tourists now, but we were expecting a hopping party with live music and inexpensive good local food. The music was a DJ and the food...More

At one time I have no doubt that this village, nestled in a little cove, was both a real fishing village and an out of the way slice of island life. Not so much these days. Our small tour bus came into the ramshackle village...More

Total bummer. No seafood party on Fridays during Lent. What a total disappointment. I was surprised to find tourist activities cancelled because of one religions holiday. Boo!!

Giant cruise ship seem to drive hundreds of tourists straight to Anse La Raye which has managed to retain a good feel of a local fishing village despite that. Nice to visit if you can avoid the crowd!
