We sort of accidentally did this. The gardener at the property we were staying at took us on a walk in the jungle and I only later realized it was in this area. We actually just got dropped off at the "town" at the bottom of the hill and walked up for about 2 hours. It was useful to have... More

First off, don't even try for this trail if you don't have access to a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Take the east road out of Soufriere, past Ruby's and Jerusalem Falls. There is no sign for the trail off this road. Turn left onto a smaller road by a bus stop, you will almost immediately pass a fair sized church.... More

Many advise to use a guide for this trail and we did first attempt to do so with the aid of one arranged by our hotel (Fond Doux). He was called Smith and apparently worked for "Exciting Tours". The deal was touted as a 3-4 hour trip at $60 each. However, all we got was 2.5 hours and we just... More

Highlight of the vacation! Located in the Edmund Forest Reserve, the EnBas Saut trail leads to an outstanding waterfall. This area has very little foot traffic and it is doubtful that you will find anyone else here during your trek, other than those that have come with you. The park provides a guide to assist you with the hike and... More

This hike took us about four hours. The first part of the trail is a forest road used by farmers and rastafarians. Very pleasant scenery, there are several places where you get a good view of Mt. Jimmy. The last part of the road was washed out be Hurricane Tomas a few years ago, but it is still easy to... More

Directions are not well marked, even though it is very close to the only "highway." At the small village of Migny, just few hundred meters from the parking area, dozens of people flocked our car (due to road condition, couldn't drive fast enough), all claiming to be "guides" ($200 for the tour etc...). At the end, a 14 year old... More

My husband and I were determined to get into the backcountry of St. Lucia, and this was it! The drive (as we expected from reviews) was pretty rough on our tiny little rental "SUV". We got there and was greeted by 2 guides. BUt, the vehicles were not marked and they weren't wearing a badge but the resort told us... More

Resist the temptation of the waterfall (there are MUCH better ones elsewhere anyways) and stay on the main trail, walking past the trail down to the waterfall. You will be rewarded with an excellent hike including stunning look-out spots over the entire south and east coast of St Lucia, plenty of opportunity to spot parrots (much easier to hear than... If you are fit then the hike is not a big challenge. 90 mins up and down. Not much of a waterfall but really lovely scenery. All steps - pretty slippery. We managed with a very small hire car but would not recommend it. Easy to get stuck and very hard to turn around if you decide you can't make... More

A great hike into and out of the rainforest - a wonderful way to take a close up look and experience life under the canopy. The road to get there is off road and rugged and not for the carsickness sufferer. It is worth noting it is 2100 steps down and the same steps back up so be warned this... More
