We traveled over by boat from our resort at Rodney Bay (10 minutes) We did some snorkeling which was not that impressive but it had been very rough and the bottom was stirred up, so we did not see many colorful fish. It is a pleasant place to walk around, see some historic sites and witness the difference between the... More

We took a hike from Royalton resort to the Island. Very historic and so glad we did it. They let you walk right into the areas that men fought from and are not roped off. Great experience

Took a cool walk up the fort and stayed there a while enjoying the the refreshing sea breeze. Then went down to the beautiful and well kept lawn to have a peaceful picnic. Oh the joys of quietness! This landmark must be visited! There is a restaurant where food can be bought and where one can savour on some excellent... More

You have multiple choices of activities here. If you plan to hike, please wear the proper footwear. Flip flops are not safe or appropriate to hike to the top of the Fort which is about 1/2 mile or the very steep hill. There are beaches and two restaurants. The views from the beaches and up above are just majestic. You... More

Went on my own while the wife was ill. Great hike at my own pace. The park is well laid out, a guide is unnecessary. Lots of info if you want to stay and read. The real bonus is the view and the beaches. If you climb both peaks you will see for miles in all directions. After that, you... More

We stayed at the Sandals Grande next to the park. It's a short walk to the park entrance and the park provides a good break from laying on the beach. The views from the top of the hills are terrific. Make sure to bring good shoes to walk in, the paths are a little rocky. You can snorkel off one... More

My wife and I had a driver take us around the island for the day and this was one of our favorites. The history is a nice start to the park, with the kitchen and solders barracks scattered throughout. The climb to the top is fairly short but relatively steep, with a very short but even steeper ladder to climb... More

We stayed nearby, so for daily exercise walked here and enjoyed the views and climbs! Note that there's a $7 pp entry fee and wear closed shoes if plan to go to the top. We didn't eat at the restaurant but saw many people enjoying it with it's authentic Caribbean character..both setting and food wise. Overall, enjoyable day w beautiful... More

Took local bus from St James Bay resort (15km south). US $7 admission per person. Well marked hiking paths and informative plaques. If you can, do climb to top -- bit of scrambling at top end -- for fabulous, 360 degree views. Great snorkeling near pier at restaurant.

My husband and I were staying near Suffriere but had rented a car and decided to drive here to see Fort Rodney and the island. We hiked up both hills, the fort being easiest with stairs/railings. The other lookout was steeper but not overly challenging, other than the heat. I was glad to have sneakers on and not flip flops... More
