Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A small house with a nice history. I thought it would be older, but it was not built until the 1960's . There is a story board next to it. It is worth visiting if in the area, but I wouldn't travel far to see it

The one who built this dwelling, built it in the 1960s. It is close to the Morne Larcher and he has a view on the Diamant.

There is a legend that this owner was sent to prison in 1933 forever

That dwelling is small and it is colorful!

Worthwhile to see!

Remembering what once was, on the edge of a cliff overlooking the water.

It was built by a sculptor when he got out of prison, but if I tell you why he went to prison, it may land you in prison..... actually I do not know.

A miniature house, sculpted by Mediard Aribot, a sculpture and agitator, in the 1960s. It is a sight to be seen, but so is The Diamant Rock looming up behind (or in front of) it.

Cute house to take pictures in front of but not worth driving down to. No english placards around so its up to you to decide what this house was used for.

This convict's house is currently a ruin... It was not maintained as it should have been and today it is just a shack whose wood is rotten and falling into disuse... What a Shame ! The story of this convict, Médard Aribot, condemned to prison in Cayenne for a sculpture story, not only died in total indifference, but his house did not have the favor of state subsidies for be maintained (and therefore the memory of this man). Since 1996 it has been planned to restore this house of memory...
How sad !

Not far from Cap 110 and Rocher du Diamant, take a look at the Maison du Bagnard, listed as Martinique's historical heritage since 2006. It is a tiny house with rich, bright colors, built by Médard Aribot who, after spending 25 years in the penal colony of Guyana, he settled in Le Diamant in the 1950s. He built this curious house in the early 1960s and lived there until 1973, the year of his death.
