One of the most impressive gardens anywhere. The tree top walk is fabulous. Not well sign posted for such an important attraction. Take your camera

Superb garden that show cases tropical plants to great effect. This is a garden that is a long winding path though plants in large groups of all sizes and scales. It also includes a tree canopy walkway. You will need to be fairly fit as it is on a slope. There is a delightful pavilion at the entrance from which... More

If you are in Martinique, this is not to be missed. It is small enough to be able to visit the entire garden in a couple of hours and take in the stunning views over the valley from a number of well positioned viewing platforms. There are flowers, trees and shrubs from a wide variety of regions and artfully created... More

We made the hour long drive from Trois Islets to visit the Jardin de Balata. I am a huge lover of orchids and bromeliads, and was hoping to see a huge variety of them. I was disappointed to see that there were few of either. The gardens were nice however, and I enjoyed the rope bridge. I especially enjoyed seeing... More

We arrived in Martinique on the Norwegian Gem and did not have an excursion planned. This was no problem as there are plenty of taxi drivers with vans willing to take you around. Our taxi driver found 8 of us from the cruise who were open for a tour around the island, and we all hopped aboard. The hills of... More

We spent a few hours walking around the Gardens...what a stunning display of flowers and trees. The rope bridges were awesome! So much fun, especially for the kids. There is wonderful large playground for younger kids too. Some great views, lots of flowers of all kinds, decent signage too. Had a great time. There's plenty of shade provided by the... More

This is a well planned semi formal garden that features many of the local trees and flowers of Martinique. The path is easy to follow and there are quite a few resting places along the way. The over head suspended walkway is fun to do but doesn't really add to your view of the grounds. There are several great views... More

Woefully signposted, the jardins are just off the national road about 5km out of Fort De France, but high in the mountains. The gardens are nicely laid out and easy to navigate through with clear signs throughout. There are also plenty of little huts to stop in along the paths in case it rains or you just want a break.... I have been twice, both in the rain and sunshine and it hasn't disappointed. The hummingbirds are amazing to watch, and i love the tree top walk.
