Beautiful beach in the Marine's old territory, sadly it belongs to Fish&Wildlife now and they are the ones abusing power now. Si eres boricua probablemente te paren y abusen de ti.

Also known as Red Beach, Playa Caracas is one of the few beaches that you can drive right up to and park your car in a lot that you can see from the road. There are a few little shelters with picnic tables for shade...More

My husband and I just spent two weeks on Vieques (11/29 - 12/13) -- which we have been doing annually since 2007, and intend to continue doing so (unless/until we ultimately buy a place on Vieques). La Playa Caracas, or Red Beach, is by far...More

We have visited Vieques twice and both times rented a scooter. We try to visit a couple of beach areas a day and Caracas has to rank top 2 on the island! Only issue is that it's so perfect, EVERYONE visits. Beach area is smaller...More

You will need a vehicle or transportation to the beach as it is not in "town" but not necessarily a jeep. There are paved roads right up to the beach.
