We spent almost a day in this huge and amazing tropical forest. Took a long tour surrounded by beautiful tropical planets I have never seen before. After the long walk you can fresh yourself in a natural waterfall cold but unforgettable experience.

El Yunque is a nearly pristine tropical rainforest less than an hour from the city of San Juan. The visitor's center is very well designed and includes information about the history of the park, its ecology, and research and conservation efforts. There is a gift shop at the visitor's center and gift shops and snack bars elsewhere within the park.... More

This is a lovely 28,000 acre rainforest comprising 75% virgin forest left in Puerto Rico and the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Firest System. There are 50 types of ferns, 20 varieties of wild orchids and 200 species of trees. Some are over 100 feet tall. There are birds, frogs and parrots. Oh and huge termite nests. If... More

This was truely a beautiful walk in the rainforest of El Yunque. This tour was about a 4 hour walk from the El Portal Visitor's Center to the water fall and back. The trails are in good shape and we were able to easily navigate the trail along with our guide who stopped in several places to describe the flora,... More

This place was beautiful . Free of charge as well. A walk through the trails were breath taking. once we got to the Water Falls, i fell in love. You can get in the water (fyi it was freezing cold) But after that longgggg walk, trust me, you would want to jump right in. It is a little slippery so... More

It takes like and 1 hour to get to the Falls but its worth it. Its a nature hike and lots of birds and at half way a mirador that you can see the island on the south side.

Our group of 8 (dad, mom, 20 year old son and gf, 18 year old daughter and bff and 15 year old daughter and bff) were looking for a private guided rain forest tour and the fabulous trip advisor community led us to John. We booked online, but also spoke with him about what our group was looking for. We... More

We had an amazing time with John! Not only did he guide us on the more remote paths to the peak, but shared his astounding knowledge about the rainforest with me and my brother. Best part is that we started with a "killer" breakfast (there's this bakery at the meeting point that makes the most amazing chicken sandwiches) and finished... More

Other review have raved about John's humor, the great breakfast place and his thoroughly enjoyable company. With us, John patiently accommodated changes in our group and the need to stop by Wal-Mart on the way so one could by shoes and another sunglasses. The route to El Yunque was off the highway and he conducted a tour of the small... More
