If you like history, you will enjoy the house that Ponce de Keon ordered to build, but never lived it since he died in Florida looking for the "fountain of youth". This house stayed in the family for hundreds of years. Very interesting!

Worth a visit if you are in the neighborhood. Interesting architecture (ask about the dungeon), pretty gardens, cheap entry fee. Good views of the town, not easy to find at the end of a dead end street.

In Old San Juan, beautiful, quiet, and well kept. I believe it was only $3 admission, worth the quick stop, easily accesible by walking in Viejo San Juan. Can view all in less than an hour.

Aim for the white building at the very top of the hill, where Calle San Sebastián ends. Pay $3 to tour this quiet, airy space and learn how the house was built for Ponce de Leon and how it was used for hundreds of years....More

The Museo de Casa Blanca is a fantastic museum located just minutes away from the San Juan National Historic Site. Dating back approximately 500 years, the history of Puerto Rico is on complete display here and is absolutely worth the detour.

Beautiful example of one of the earlist structures in the city with detailed explanation of construction techniques and the evolution of the complex. The first floor is decorated with period pieces that transport you in time. Small museum well worth every minute. Very inexpensive entrance...More

When visiting Old San Juan this is a must stop. Inexpensive to see. Although it is very plain and run-down, you get an idea how it was to live back in the 1500's. Very nice views while standing on the different balconies. Needs a bit...More

The oldest building in San Juan and was inhabited until the 1960's with no running water/plumbing. (also no public bathrooms). Self guided tour through the rooms but the entrance guy was very friendly and happy to answer any/all questions. Nice views out the windows and...More
