This little neighborhood surrounding the placito is so fun. Many good restaurants with outdoor eating, whole families together, dancing. Two good choices are Chiccarone and Asere for PR food and Cuban. Try the grilled octopus

Twice we have gone to the Plaza del Mercado in Santurce. If you want a true "local" experience, then go here on a Friday night. After the Market closes, and the sun goes down, the party begins. Have dinner at Jose Enrique, then join the crowd that begins to gather about 9:00 pm, and enjoy some Salsa dancing in the... More

Santurce is where the locals go around for dinner and drinks, you can find yourself enjoying live music at la placita del Mercado at calle Canals, where you'll find plenty of restaurants and bars, Santurce also has two museums, plenty of cafes to enjoy a true puertorrican coffee experience. Steets and avenues may not be as appealing, but keep looking... More

This neighborhood is not far from Ocean Beach and Condado neighborhoods, and a lot more affordable. We rented a nice little mini-apartment through AirBnB. Our place was just a few blocks from Ocean Beach, a lively but not over-crowded beach. If you're into walking, you can get to Condado easily, and the walk is mostly nice with shade trees and... I suggest you make one before going to the restaurant . They have valet parking $7.. The only thing that I didn't like but it's not their fault , is that... More

This neighborhood is starting to change with many new buildings going up, but I dont think a lot ok f the units are looking sold. They're definitely trying to modernize this older area.

Before the Big Shopping Centers and the New High Scale Housing Neighborhoods were developed Santurce was one of the best living neighborhoods in the Metropolitan Area. Once this new developments started in the late 60's and early 70's people left Santurce and it went downhill after people started moving out of the area and many business started closing or moving.... I go to church in Santurce and can't believe all the new building from a Pueblo store connected to a parking garage to my favorite bookstore/internet cafe. You can see some amazing art work at the art museum and sculptures outside. Then also there is some interesting graffiti around. I will post photos here.

Back in 1991 I travelled there to do some Shopping. The area is quite convenient for the Locals but it does not have an array as the Plazas.
