Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Being we booked a last minute trip to PR we stayed at the Double Tree which was nicely located in the middle of this very hip area. Great food and drink options. Lots of nighttime entertainment. Beautifully buildings and art structures. Close to Condado and Isla Verde.

Calle Loiza is a street full of shops, bars, restaurants, and local gems. You can dine then head to a bar/club to grab a drink and dance. Its a must stop by when visiting San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Calle Loiza is the place where you feel at home in Santurce Puerto Rico. An authentic Puerto Rican community, with the best urban beach in the world, the finest Puertorican restaurants with authentic cuisine. It starts at the finest boutique hotel, the Doubletree by Hilon at the corner of Loiza street and De Diego Avenue. The best place to come visit and enjoy it's mural and art scene. Yours truly Orvil Miller singer, actor, historian and a native of Santurce, La Calle Loiza.

This is an upcoming área in Santurce. We visit regularly but with a destination in mind, a specific restaurant that we want to sponsor. It's not atractivo for walking around. But plenty of good restaurants around. Search for the ones that are highly recommended and go for it. .

Hola Alfredo8074,
We agree with you that Calle Loiza is an up-and-coming area with a bright future. As well, we also believe that it is a great walkable destination with amazing street art, culture, small local boutiques, and an even greater array of restaurant and “watering” spots ( by this we mean, bars and just straight out hipster minimarts). As a destination, we recommend visitors to start their stroll in the mid-afternoon at the beginning of Calle Loiza where it crosses with Avenida De Diego, stop by "Libros Libres," pick up a book, take a selfie or group picture at the "Loiza Brinca Mural" and by the "Mural of Oportunidades." Along the way stop for a delicious lunch at al El Viejo Almacen, shop at Playero (the preferred surf shop for locals) and grab a mouth-watering dessert at DoubleCake! The unique gastronomy of Calle Loíza ranges from authentic Puerto Rican food to Italian, Greek, and even Mexican food. Once the night comes, for a little music and drinks visit Tantalo, El Tap, La Coctelera, El Bar.Bero, or dance the night away at Funky Night Club. All within walking distance! If you have a car, we do recommend you park at Gallery Plaza and start from there your day in Calle Loíza. For those looking to spend the day at Ocean Park Beach, we'd also recommend parking at Gallery Plaza. Thank you for visiting our neighborhood, and we hope to welcome you back many more times!
Como mucho cariño,
La Calle Loiza

Gentrified area with awesome salsa bars, restaurants, safe to walk. Short distance from our hotel which was caribe HILTON. We hit Sabrina restaurant. Yum. Hip. Gourmet, not expensive, a famous young chef. Walked to Piso Viejo, a locals salsa bar with a live band. Fun to dan e and watch locals do some serious dancing. Band was amazing.
