It's probably best to arrange this rafting experience with someone who will take you to the starting area welll up river, then meet you at the end to drive you back home. That said, you don't need much to start, a bathing suit if you want to swim part-way through the trip, sandals instead of shoes (since your shoes could... More

Rafting on the Rio Grande was so nice. It was a non sunny day so we thought it would be perfect for the river. Our captains were Pablo and Harvey, which have been navigating the river for 27 years! It was so relaxing and the sites were astonishing. We didn't see too much wildlife, just some Vultures. Stopped at the... More

Buy a ticket at the big white building by the bridge before you get into Pt. Antonio. You will know it by all the raft captains screaming at you to go on a ride as you drive by. They will tell you how to get to Barrydale to the rafters starting point. A man will drive your car back to... More

We went for a friends birthday party and it was a lot of fun. The captains will punt the rafts down the river, and guide you to the end. During the trip you will get to swim and at some places you can grab a Vine and swing dive. There is a food shack on route, so you can stop... More

Prior to rafting here, I asked several Jamaicans in the resort reception, in town and at the Rio Grande, if rafting with small kids would be somehow dangerous. Everybody reassured me, but the trip was indeed dangerous. At the first rapid, the canoe running behind our overturned, with one passenger being nearly carried away by the currents. Our captain finally... More

did not enjoy the taxi ride to the beginning spot of where the rafts are waiting for you to start the 2 hour journey down the river. great bamboo rafts only 2 people per raft. took a lunch break half way down - a couple of floating vendors along the way if you wish to have drinks or a meal.

We took a rafting trip here and as it was the slower season in Sept there was not even 1 other raft on the river. It was absolutely fantastic. It is far less commercial that the Martha Brea and our guide was awesome. He also sang as he paddled!

This tip is amazing. It doesn't compare to that other trip on the river on the other side of the island. We were out all day it was so relaxing. We stopped for an outstanding lunch and then completed out trip. The entire trip took hours and was more than fun. I would recommend it for anyone.
