It was a typical lighthouse. I'm glad I went so that I could say I'd been there, but the area was a little junked up. The view across the ocean however, was lovely.

The lighthouse average compared to those in America but the view from the top is great. Additionally, the light keeper was very interesting and nice. Don't worry about the bums on the grounds trying to offer tours or sell things. Just say "no thanks" and they give up. Note that the stairs get very steep at the top level.

We went early in the morning which was great because there was no one trying to give you a "tour" or sell you stuff...but all in all its just an average sized lighthouse next to the cliffs. The cliffs are way more beautiful than the lighthouse.

The lighthouse itself was closed but the views from the cliff side were kinda beautiful. There are people selling at the site, but a simple no thank you and they leave you to it (although I had to say it twice to the cliff diver). There is no hostility as mentioned in other reviews.

Could be a special site...but barely maintained and their lack of attention allow hucksters to prowl the grounds claiming to be affiliated with the site, refusing to leave you alone even if you tell them you are aware they do not work for the park...and finally, you guessed it, "demanding" a donation to "the park". They could have something notable... More

Im afraid of heights, and thought I'd over come my fear by climbing to the top of the lighthouse - well I got all of the way up there and had a panic attack! but Mr. Johnson - the lighthouse manager was very caring & helpful - all of my friends were taking pretty pictures of the beautiful sunset and... There are local people waiting on the property who will do everything they can to take advantage of unsuspecting visitors. Though no physical threat was made, the potential is there, so please avoid this site at all costs. We were there with our private tour guide but that didn't stop the people there from scamming us. You are confronted by... More

I went on a Saturday night, it was quiet, only about 5 or 6 other people there. Nice place to view the sunset if you want pictures other than from the beach and from Rick's.

If you love the sea, don't miss this spot on your visit to Negril. Anytime of day you will find yourself not wanting to leave this place. Very peaceful.
