Relaxing, romantic river raft ride.

My husband and I had Guide #100 who had a great sense of humour and told us stories all the way. We had a very smooth ride with him as our Guide. It was quiet and peaceful. We took a cab from our resort to the excursion and arrived before the cruise ships. We were first on the river at... More

Glad we went to Martha Brea. Great for any first timer. $60 per raft. 2 persons max. $5.00 beer available along shore line from locals. Many tourist gifts for sale along banks as you flow down. Minor pressure at end of ride to purchase wood carvings from your captain. Didnt buy carvings but tipped Rasta Danny !!

When many ships are in port this attraction can be busy and there can be a long wait time for a raft. We had a fabulous driver and fantastic tour guide (Maria). On the way to the river we stopped for a half an hour at a souvenir stand which was a perfect amount of time. Then on to the... More

The rafting experience was very good. The guides were informative re the culture, foliage and the wild life. You can wear shorts and running shoes as you don't get wet. Two people on a wooden padded chair + guide only on the boat. Don't get conned as we did about the need for bug spray. (wasted $10 US) We went... More

Visited as part of Essential Rivers tour via Thomson. Arrived at the location with a welcome non-alcoholic punch drink and to collect life jackets. You are able to purchase other drinks for the 90 min punt if you wish. You are then taken to the river and to your bamboo punt/guide. The punts are staged to allow you a peaceful... More

We hired a car and decided to come here ourselves which was easy to get to and saved money. We were greeted by friendly staff and bought tickets then escorted us to a nice wee bar until our raft was ready. The river is in the middle of the Jamaican forest but totally tourist friendly anyway the captain of our... More

We did a half day trip to ride on the bamboo raft. Was such a lovely experience our raft captain was Joseph he was very informative and passionate about the wildlife, countryside and beauty of this river. The trip on the water took about 50 minutes and we didn't see any of the group the whole time, they stage the... More

We arrived first at 11 am to find it was really busy, waiting time 2 hrs for a raft. We left, came back a few hours later and it was much quieter. We had a nice young chap punting us down the river, past the greenery and souvenirs stops. It was quite tame, but a nice end to our day... More

We went on the Martha Brae on a Friday afternoon. We had 2 rafts with CWalker and Reed. I believe that we were the only people on the river as the cruise ship travelers had attended in the morning. This is a very pretty attraction. You begin by walking through a few shops, having a welcome drink and buying your... More

We travelled down the river on a bamboo raft. The scenery was great, the only downside was that it rained heavily for the whole trip so we were drenched. It was still enjoyable but would have been magnificent in the sun.
