Because of the larger than usual parking lot and the relatively easy access to the waterfalls via paved foot path, the Cascade aux Ecrevisses can get crowded - especially when a tour bus with day-trippers from Gosier, Ste. Anne or St. Francois pulls in. But for precisely those same reasons, this is a good stop. We were traveling with my... More

It´s a good place to stop if you want to cool down. For me too busy, I prefer more private places further from the main road.

Perfect for a day trip. Very refreshing. The water is fresh and cool. You need steady feet to walk on the rocks. Beautiful sight!!

Easy to find and only a short boardwalk trek from the car park. The boardwalk was roped off because a tree had fallen across the path....don't let that put you off. Skip over the barrier, climb over the fallen tree (OK, it is a big rain forest tree, but it's not beyond most active people) and you are rewarded by... More

The water is cool. It was a bit crowded: a lot of children there, people coming with buses. The pool is rather small but has colorful fish in it.

This is a beautiful little fall near a nice river. The setting is beautiful. However, I would have appreciated this a lot more if it wasn't so crowded with bathing people which took away from the serenity of the place. This is probably due to the fact that it is right along the road and therefore very easily accessible to... More

The short walk to the cascade brings you to a place popular with people swimming, soaking in the pool below the cascade or relaxing on a boulder in the stream next to it.

We had spent the day in Basse- Terre climbing the Volcano and on the way back to Grand- Terre, I figured if it wasn't too late and dark we can make a quick detour to visit this waterfall since it was supposedly right off of Route de la Traverse. It was maybe 4:30ish so there were the signs and before... More
