This was a nice hike up to the La Soufriere volcano. It gets quite intense in the end, so do not try to survive with flipflops or sandals... Also a light jacket would have been a good idea because of the raining and the furious wind at the top of the mountain. You don't have to be a professional climber,... More

Driving to the park is half the challenge, we made it in a small automatic but we could easily tell the car was struggling, on the other hand the roads are very narrow and only allow enough room for one Car in either direction at times. The hike is strenuous and i recommend bringing a windbreaker and good hiking shoes.... More

Hike up this volcano and it was a work out but oh so beautiful! No tour guide, just you following the rough path upwards

We came to the park as part of our Soufriere city excursion. They told us the bath in sulfur would get us 10 years younger. Although that was not the case, we really enjoyed the experience!

Earlier today my 14 years-old son and I climbed all the way to the summit of the volcanoe 'la Soufrière' under difficult conditions (cold, windy and foggy), but the experience was worthwhile.

This is a great day for a family with kids that are not completely dependent on you. But come prepared. First, parking around 10-11am can be very competitive. Best to either get an early start, or arrive just before noon as the early crowd is starting to leave. The volcano walk is spectacular and not too challenging even for the... More

These days you can drive up La Grande Soufrière to 950m. Next to the parking at Les Bains Jaunes there is a simple thermal bath, actually a lukewarm pool. The trail between Les Bains Jaunes and the now abandoned parking Savane à Mulets at 1142m, was build by navy soldiers in 18eighties. It is the last remaining old trail and... More

The hike to the summit of La Soufriere starts out warm, with beautiful views along the way. As one approaches the summit, the trail gets steeper, occasionally requiring some climbing over rocks. Near the summit, the view disappears and a strong wind swirls cold fog around the peak. A concrete bunker nearby provides shelter for stranded hikers.

The volcano is a well-known attraction so arrive early in order to get the limited formal parking space at the foot of the volcano near the Bains Jauns. By 800 AM the parking is full and you have to park down the road wherever there is space available. Once parked, the climb up the volcano is pretty moderate for seasoned... More

It´s good to start quite early in the morning - both beacuse of sun and parking place where you start your way up. Although we didn´t have a nice view on top because of clouds we had it along the way up. Good to have a wind jacket with you, it´s guite windy on the top. Beautiful experience to see... More
