Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were here as part of a 14 day cruise and spent the day at Plage St. Anne. Know it is a 30 min taxi ride rom the port, frequent stopped and slow traffic due to tunnels, narrow streets, etc. which costs 10 euros per person, each way. The beach is fairly crowded, commercial and shallow. The downtown we drove through had many buildings covered with graffiti, and trash left on the walks/alleys. I can't imagine coming here for a vacation. We've been on 30+ Carribean cruises and pretty much seen it all, but this has to be in the top 10 worst destinations.

Wonderful sea! The beach is a bit narrow but it is not difficult to find a place in the shade because there are many palm trees. We also rented some sunbeds, then we left to go to the market and when we returned they were occupied, but the boy easily let us choose other sunbeds. It's a nice location to alternate the beach with a visit to the local area.

be careful, this is not the beach of Le caravelle as some indicated, but the city beach of St. Anne. It is the beach that runs parallel to the main road, separated from it by a strip of buildings. therefore on the one hand convenient because it is accessible even without a car, and full of shops and restaurants; on the other hand, I find it very confusing, crowded, noisy; the beach is very narrow. there is some shade. there are many activities such as rentals, bars etc so if you like this type of beach it is ideal. I like it quieter and so I don't frequent her.

Great time playing in the water on this white sandy beach, clear and transparent water, flat bottom and shallow slope. Ideal for families. It has PMR access and offers a launch chair on loan.
Parking and restaurants line the street along the beaches. Trees make it possible to be in the shade.
However, it is very busy due to its location.

Soft white sand beach with calm clear turquoise water. Perhaps the best beach we’ve visited in the Caribbean. Gets crowded, for good reason. Toilets and rinsing showers available.

Magnificent beach
White sand, turquoise water, it’s simply magical
Not to be missed if you are staying in the area
A few small beach restaurants will allow you to end a beautiful morning of sunbathing and swimming

We docked at Pointe a Pitre Guadeloupe 8am. We left the ship and took an organised excursion to St Anne's Beach. We had 4 hrs to explore the market and the beach.
Local cafes, shops etc staff speak good English. Relaxed on the sun kissed beach , took a dip in the crystal clear waters, watched the fish Swimming around our feet.

Beautiful white sandy beach. Many restaurants on the beach. No sargasm in July 2024. Very hot water... several car parks guarded at 3 euros. I recommend because there was always room. Attention a part of the beach was forbidden because 1 person was attacked by barracudas. Watch out for pickpockets.

While staying at Club Med La Caravelle from the US, we walked almost everyday into town. The market was amazing. The bakery on the corner delicious. But the best was our morning cappuccino at Au Bord de l’Eau at the end of the beach with the red umbrellas! They also serve a great daiquiri! Enjoy!

So sorry I don't recall the total amount. I bargained with him outside the terminal but I do remember it wasn't very costly. Maybe $10 euros each???
Sorry!

Has anybody got a Taxi from cruise port to sainte ann and know the cost.
Written 14 December 2017
What town does the cruise port stop at? It’s about a 20 minute ride from Gosier to Ste Anne Beach. A bit longer from Bas du Fort. I would think that is not so expensive as a taxi to Basse Terre or the west coast of Guadeloupe.

Hallo,

So you scored the can't miss air fare deal from Norweigian huh ?? Do any of you speak French ?? If not, don't go here. Bite the bullet and cancel your flight. We just got back. Sorry I found that deal, but anyway. I would get a "Gite" on VRBO or AirBnB near St Anne or St Franscois. Rental car is a must. Traffic is horrendous. You can find at the Tourist office a map with 6 suggested routes to see everything. We combined it into 3 and saw it all. The maps and suggestions are all in French, but we made it out enough to see them all. Keep in mind , ALL of the places, like Botanical Gardens, Parks and distilleries are in French. We paid the entrance fees than fumbled through the sites on our own. That was a waste of time. Be careful at some of the beaches along the way. Apparently the French welfare system is like ours, everybody gets a check. That was more pronounced on the Basse Terre side, not sure why. I would use the beach at Pierrre & Vac since it is on a public beach, just go down the road along the fence, there's free parking, beach chairs, pools and amenities that we paid for at the resort. I know this question is over a year old, but if you are considering going, this may help.
