Amazing and great to see

Lots to see and the fact that it was the building in Jurassic Park was a plus. Ohhhhhh and the store was great and affordable. Buy your amber here! When we went elsewhere it was... read more

Interesting place - the dust on every exhibit (behind glass) needs to be taken care of! If tourism is the major industry, dust!

I did want to shop for jewelry so it was ok, but if you are not looking to go jewelry shopping don't go. It is a SMALL museum and a LARGE jewelry store

Overview: A tiny museum that makes a pleasant afternoon for nature enthusiasts and movie fans. The Good: The cost to enter the museum was only the equivalent of $1 U.S. The museum was small, therefore making this a good place to see if you only have an hour or two. For me, the exhibits were amazing, because I have been... More

You can read about the amber that is made from this region of Dominican Republic on the internet. Not worth it at all to go to the museum. Nothing really interesting. The tour is 5 minutes and then they try and sell you a whole array of jewelry.

Lots to see and the fact that it was the building in Jurassic Park was a plus. Ohhhhhh and the store was great and affordable. Buy your amber here! When we went elsewhere it was less unique and more expensive so we went back. They were also willing to alter and restone a ring for me. No bells and whistles... More

As part of a full day tour of Puerto Plata, we spent an hour visiting the amber museum. The tour guide was especially funny. Bonus was the cigar shop, which featured a man rolling tobacco leaves.

Unless you're really into science or amber this tour is just something to do yes it's cool how the mine the Amber and the whole process of making items out of it but it gets pretty boring fast was glad the tour was short.I did it just to say that I have done it before

We visited when on a guided tour of Puerto Plato. We didn't stay long, less than 30 minutes. We basically passed through. Interesting story about the Jurassic Park connection. We bought some cool nice quality tshirts for only $10 each. I'd recommend a visit.

The tour is cheap but the guide rushed us through so that we would shop. There should be more time to peruse the exhibits on your own.
