The zoo is below average and involves lots of walking. The animals were few and far between. Unless you have absolutely nothing else to do don't bother.

The zoo is showing signs of aging and limited upkeep. Except with the animals and enclosures which are maintained as close as possible to offering free-range movement. A local tour train takes you up in into the zoo property with the guide offering a clear description of the animal, habitat and zoology. En Espanol, so be prepared to listen carefully.

The zoo was very nice and was surprisingly inexpensive for the number and types of animals that are housed there. It is pretty big and I love that it allows the animals plenty of open space unlike some zoos. And they have HIPPOs!!! My hubbys favorite. When we visit different states we visits zoos. It's "our thing". I really enjoyed... More

Nice installation that needs a little more maintenance and better display of animals. Nevertheless, it is a good way to spend the day with the kids and have a picnic.

Overall the zoo had some interesting animals for the kids. They enjoyed the loud parrots and flamencos the most. The train was a great repreive during the hot weather. It would have been nice to have a concession stand where they sell ice cream or water,

My husband and I, our adult daughter and our 3 little grandkids (ages 1, 1.5 and 3.5) went to this amazing zoo on 1/15/16 (Friday morning). We liked it so much that we went back again that afternoon with one more person joining us (our other twin daughter). The wrist bands let you get back in for free later that... More

The good: the price is right (RD$100 for adults, RD$60 for kids 2-12); the zoo is a quiet and tranquil island in the middle of a busy and noisy city; the animal enclosures are spacious and done well. The zoo is relatively clean. The tour on the train is nice (but information is only given in Spanish). The challenging/bad: very... More
