Interesting visit through the history of many countries around the world, I'm not sure what relevance to DR, with photos and artifacts. I did find many of the American artifacts to be representational, though not sure they were authentic. A huge structure, and I would argue its place.

This is a memorial to Christopher Columbus. At night lights are projected from the top in the form of a cross. The chapel may have the bones of Columbus but other places have similar claims.

Impressive architectural building where Cristobal Colon rests in peace. A local tribute to the conquer of America including an inside museum with cultures of many countries. A must see place. Highly recommended.

After visiting 3 eyes cenote, we stopped here. We were curious. Columbus s tomb? Who would have known. From the outside, the building is rather unflattering to itself. The interior is simply amazing. GOOD for An Afternoon venture when combined with Ole 3 eyes

This structure, while worth a brief stop, perhaps, is nothing on which you'll want to invest a great deal of time. I was not able to enter the structure, and frankly, the exterior isn't much to look at. It isn't a functional lighthouse. If you want Columbus-related history, there are better things to see in Santo Domingo.

The Columbus lighthouse is beautiful and doesn't seem that big at the front but when you go around you notice how long it is and of course the Pope's car he let in the 90's years. We didn't go inside, but the view was amazing.

Christopher Columbus could be buried here, and if he is, and you are in Santo Domingo, you should stop to pay your respects. This is a really fantastic structure, especially for the area, and I didn't even go inside - I felt privileged just to walk up the front steps.

There's nothing there🙄 just the monument/light house that hasn't been on for years. If you choose you can go during the day for some nice pictures but me personally will probably keep on going to Tres Ojos Which has a much better view.
