Wonderful views and trail. Please follow the recommendations about be hydrated, wearing comfortable and secure shoes and rest well the previous night. Pictures from the top are amazing and the wind could be strong but it feels very nice.

    Great hike and views!
We enjoyed this hike, despite the early morning it required. I would recommend going as early as you can (park office opens at 6 am) as it can get pretty hot. You’ll need to pay at the office first ($15 USD each) and then drive across the street through some narrow, winding roads to the parking lot. Even at just before 7 am, it was quite full. Make sure you have the required minimum 2L of water as it was HUMID. I would call this hike moderate to hard for most, but if you’ve got a decent baseline fitness, you’ll be fine. It is very rocky with the last bit being a complete rock scramble. We saw some people going up around 9 am that I was worried would not make it to the top. Views are great, definitely worth it! Also, I don’t think it would be possible to get to this hike via taxi, you’ll need a rental car.

    Great Views of The Island
They make this hike out to be like climbing Everest. If you are able bodied and a somewhat experienced hiker it will be no problem. For others you might sweat a lot but you'll make it. There are some scrambles but it's fun. Stop by the welcome center, buy your tickets, and then get back in your car and drive the road across the street from the welcome center. We thought about walking the road but we are so glad we didn't. The trailhead was not as close as we thought. It was a fun drive. Bring water and some decect shoes. We both wore running sneakers and had no issue. Great views at the top. Quite a few people up there too.

One of the highlights of the trip.
Had to get a very early start and could have enjoyed even earlier. $50 guilders to get entry into park and needed to sign waivers before going up. We were appropriately prepared with 2 l water each - which is important as it is very hot and not an easy hike. No technical climbing but you do have to scramble a bit at the end. Worth getting up before it got too hot.

Needs some basic fitness, but worth it!!
My family and I (including 2 kids of 8 and 10) did this hike a few days ago. I would say that we are an average family, so not super sporty but also not couch potatoes, and we did the whole thing (up and down) in just over 3 hours (from the 2nd car park, not the visitors centre). I must admit that it was more difficult that I expected, but totally doable for the average able family. Our 8 year old led the way to the top, but needed some encouragement halfway down. The views from the top were awesome, along with the flora and fauna on the way up. There is some quite some clambering required, especially in the last 20 minutes or so, but I would totally recommend this hike to any visitors to Curacao.

Tough Hike but wonderful view at the topc
This was a challenging hike but definitely worth it. We started the hike around 8:45 a.m. and were one of the last groups to do so. The hike is very rocky. Some portions require high stepping, which is easier if you have long legs I found the rock scramble at the last portion of the trail the best part but used weightlifting gloves to protect my hands. Having a good pair of trail shoes or hiking shoes helps. It is very hot and humid so bring lots of water, a hat, and take breaks. We passed several groups coming down as we were heading up, which gave us a chance to stop and let them pass. The view at the top is amazing and we had it to ourselves before we headed back down. It took us about 1.5 hours to ascend and longer to go down. On the way down we saw several iguanas, some lizards, and deer. While the descent was less strenuous I found it more difficult than going up and slipped twice on loose rocks.

We drove out to the park from Blue Bay and didn't find it was worth the trip. As has been previously mentioned, it is $29 for 2 to drive thru a brushy, arid environment. There is little change in the views the entire time you are on a narrow road that isn't in the best shape in many places. There are a lot of steep hills and descents that are almost blind until the last minute. While it might be interesting for this who hike, we found it rather boring.

The museum across the street is included but there isn't much to
it, especially since all of the video displays aren't functioning. The restaurant was closed and the water went off after our arrival, which was an issue with the restroom. We can't recommend this.

Three of us (ages 61 to 71) hiked Mount Christoffel on a Saturday in mid-March. The Park has a $15 fee per adult to hike, and you will need to sign a waiver. The visitor center is on the main road to Westpunt. The park entrance opens at 6:00 A.M. and you are required to begin the hike no later than 10:00 A.M.
After paying the fee you will pass through a security gate (via your car) on the opposite side of the road and begin a roller coaster drive to the parking lot. We arrived at the parking lot at 7:30 A.M. on a Saturday and the lot was full. (The lot was actually not quite full, but cars were spinning their tires and unable to reach the unoccupied spaces). We drove past the lot and parked the car just off the road on a slightly wider section.
Not all individuals who begin this hike will finish it. There are no flat stretches and while the trail is well defined the top section has areas that requires you to look for foot and handholds. (That said, individuals younger than us, seemed to bound across some of these areas with ease). Going down can be trickier than the ascent.
It took us slightly over 3 hours to complete the hike. Bring water, good shoes, and a “can do” attitude.
We completed the hike, felt good about ourselves, but once is enough for us.

We love hiking and this was one of our favourite hikes ever. We started at 8:30. We wore running shoes and were ok, though make sure your soles have decent grip - nothing slick. Our hike was on a bit of a cloudy day, though we were still sweating like nobody's business. We went through over 3 litres of water (they recommend taking at least 2). There are a couple more challenging spots where you're scrambling up rocks, but you certainly don't need to be a mountaineer to get up. There are a few spots you can rest on the way up/down (some with benches). There are two paths to approach the peak, left for those afraid of heights (me) and right if you are ok with more rocks and climbing beside a steep drop. The view from the top is beautiful, even on a hazy day like we had. There is no shade at the top and you'll probably want to spend some time up there cooling off (despite the lack of shade the wind cools you down) and taking in the view, so protect yourself accordingly - I wore a rashguard for the hike because I was worried I'd sweat off any sunscreen I tend to burn easily. We both also wore hats, which helped with sun protection but also to keep the sweat out of our eyes. The rashguard also came in handy when it rained on the way down as the rash guard was still comfortable. After it rains the path stays wet as the water runs down, so highly recommend a change of footwear for when you get back down as you'll have a hard time not getting your feet wet.

Beautiful views but challenging hike! Strongly recommend that you start your hike between 6-7am and bring two bottles of water. This is a very strenuous 1 mile hike. Most of the footing for the rocks are stable but you need to watch every step along the way. This is a not an easy hike, this will be very challenging and more so if you are remotely out of shape. The views at the top are breathtaking and worth the effort to ascend the highest point in Curaçao. Enjoy your visit…start early, drink water, and watch your step!

Hot but beautiful - and a must see.
As the only place in Curaçao at this moment, you are required to wear face mask at the ticket office. We were in panic, for we hadn’t any with us. But luckily we were handed one and everything went smoothly. The hike to the top of the mountain was hot but no problem if you are in decent condition and wear eg trainers. And bring a lot of water. The view is stunning. The rest of the park is okay and the museum worth seeing while you are there, but I wouldn’t spend the entrance fee if you’re not up for the hike. But when hiking it’s reasonable charged. Remember to go in the morning before it gets too hot. We started at 8AM and it was perfect and hot. I’m glad we didn’t go later…..

The view is worth the effort! The "hike" is quite challenging, good shoes are advisable, although it can be done on sneakers. You can start the climb between 06.00 and 10.00. it is better to start bright and early due to the increased heat and humidity the later you start.

Bring plenty of water and a snack. I would not advise to climb the mountain if you have poor stamina.

At 25 naf the price is quite steep, locals can enter the park at only 5 naf, which is quite discriminatory.

We didn’t do the mountain climb. I had a bum knee at the time so tried to avoid the “challenging” hikes. We did the Plantation/Boke Grande hike. It’s about 5km, but do be aware there are a number of stairs on this route. Some are normal depth and some of the steps are an effort. Make sure you have enough water. Loved the melon cactus and the Brazil wood trees. Some of the plantation buildings were locked up when we were there. Also, it seems to be arbitrary whether you get to go or not. The first day we went we arrived at 1105h. The website said the park was open until 1400h and noted you could not start to climb mount Christoffel after 1000h. We were told we couldn’t start any of the walks after 1100h so we said we would come back. Two days later we returned and began our walk around 1000h We stopped and took photos and spent some time at the Boke beach. The whole hike took about 2.75hrs. would have been shorter if knee was working properly. We got back around noon and there were people starting out on their walks. Something to keep in mind. Worth a visit though.

Worth the (short but) difficult hike up for the amazing views of the island and ocean. Go early before it gets too hot. You can't start the hike after 10am per the rules. Need hiking boots. Some hand and foot climbing over rocks as it is straight up/straight down.

We read the reviews here on trip advisor and decided to give it a go. We followed the recommendations good hiking shoes ( we used sneakers with good grip), 4 liters of water and arrived at 6:45am. Are goal was to get to the top but not risk getting hurt. Well I’m happy to say our 56 and 58 year old bodies did not let us down we were up and down in 2 1/2 hrs. The views were so amazing. We would rate it intermediate the key is starting early. If you can hike up Cadillac mountain in Maine this is comparable. We then drove both sides of the park which felt great in the air conditioned car!! This park was great , well kept ,interesting and a nice change from going to the beach
