Cool Bridge
May 2020
Very cool bridge to experience as you watch the bridge close and swing to one side to let ships into the bay. Definitely one of the interesting things to see while in Curacao.

This bridge is a pontoon bridge which is nice to stroll. Being closed for motorized traffic, it has a relaxed ambience and a beautiful view of the Anna Bay. Very scenic selfie experience.

Fun on the bridge
Feb. 2020 • Couples
Was waking around town and came across the lights of the bridge in the evening. People were waking about holding hands and staring out at the river. I followed suit. Next thing we knew the bridge was slowly moving on its axis, essentially spinning around. Since the bridge is so low, this is how it lets ships pass by. The bridge foreman, fortunately, didn’t ask us to exit the bridge prior which apparently he was supposed to do. So instead we were a captive audience with the bridge to ourselves as ships and the evening passed by. Definitely worth a visit even if you don’t get to ‘spin on the bridge’.

These are pictures of the Queen Emma Pontoon Bridge

The Queen Wilhelmina Bridge is a high rise auto bridge over the canal. It is not a floating bridge as shown by most of the pictures. Nice view from the Queen Wilhelmina bridge but only if you are in a car or bus.

Different

A floating bridge that moves to allow shipping to pass as the city end is powered and pulls the bridge away from the quay sufficiently to permit passage depending upon size, warning sound before this happens and you have the option of hurrying off or staying on for a ride, very basic health and safety, great views as you walk over.

Unique Experience!
Jan. 2020
How about hearing the sound of the opening bridge, your heart beat going up for being too late to jump to the other side (Punda) and then experiencing the Bridge opening with you standing on it.....Priceless!

Fascinating Bridge

This colorful, whimsical bridge takes you from the Rif Fort to Punda. Should see it both during the day and at night.

A fun part of Wilemstad
Feb. 2020
The bridge is a nice spot for photos, with the colourful buildings of Wilemstad in the background. We didn't see it opening up, but we were told that there is a free little ferry you can take across if the bridge is open.

The swinging lady... By night.
Feb. 2020
This is a very nice bridge to walk on. While walking on it, you swing very passionately same pase it does. The path is making a nice sound beneath your feet. The sound of the ocean you feel it in your bones as well. It's an easy 5 minutes walk but you will stand in the middle for 15/20 min for sure to be able to enjoy your sorroudings. On the Punda side, there is a huge heart where you can still hang a few locks. At night the bridge is illuminated with colorful lights. Very nice to see. Both sides of the bridge offers you where to sit and eat, from a hotdog till a 3-4 course dinner. For those on heels you, can find your way holding on the rails. The best Harbour I have seen so far. Very nice soroundings. Enjoy!!

Historically charming
Dec. 2019 • Couples
This bridge is amazing in that it is supported by floating pontoons. When a ship needs to pass the entire bridge pivots at one end to create a clear passageway. The bridge is alive and moves as you walk across. At night it is lit up by coloured lights. It is perfectly safe for push chairs, infants and older persons to walk across.
