One of the prime reasons to go to Curacao was to see the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere. The synagogue itself was beautiful and very interesting. The museum was enjoyable as well. The gift shop was disappointing.

Such an historic place and it smells so nice. There is a magical feeling in this synagogue. Constructed in 1732, it is the oldest surviving synagogue in the Americas. Whatever your faith, a visit to this Synagogue in Willemstad is worth it.

Visiting the old sephardic synagoge and visiting the museum took about an hour - well worth it to read the incredible family tree sstories of Jews from soouth americca and Europe who landed on this island. A rich cultural experience.

This was a fascinating experience. Seeing the synagogue, and the museum and hearing about the history of the community was most interesting.

The dirt floors muffled the sound of praying during the Spanish Inquisition is a must see for a truly wonderful experience. The beautiful religious artifacts, paintings and historical wall carvings make this a great place to visit and pray.

Visiting the oldest continuously operating synagogue in the western hemisphere and seeing the objects in its museum provides insight into history. A must for the culturally curious who visit Curacao.
